🩷 VARDA GOES PINK! 🩷

What an awesome way to finish the day!

This afternoon, our Varda Academy students and staff swapped their salon tools for walking shoes and pink tutus to take part in the Pink Ribbon Walk at Hamilton Lake! 🎀🚶‍♀️

So great to see our team coming together outside the classroom to support breast cancer awareness and such an important cause.

Lots of pink, plenty of laughs, and some fantastic team spirit! 💕

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. We're proud of our Varda whānau! 🩷

🎃👻 HALLOWEEN & CHARACTER COMPETITION AT VARDA! 🕷️🧡

What an awesome day of creativity, colour, costumes and a little Halloween madness at Varda Academy!

Our talented Hairdressing and Barbering students were challenged to think outside the box with three fun competitions:

🎃 Year 1 Hairdressing – Anything But a Perm Rod Perm! Creating curls and waves using anything other than traditional perm rods.

💀 Year 2 Hairdressing – Mannequin Face Painting! Bringing their characters to life with some seriously creative designs.

✂️ Barbering – Design a Beard! Putting their creativity and artistic skills to the test.

And of course, we couldn't have Halloween without some amazing costumes! 👻

A huge congratulations to all our winners and runners-up, and a big shout-out to everyone who got involved. The effort, imagination and creativity were outstanding!

We love seeing our students having fun, supporting each other and showing off their creative talents.

✨ MODEL CALL – RAANI’S FINALS ✨

Raani is looking for 1 more model for her final assessment on Wednesday 4th November! ✂️🎨

She is looking for a model who wants a colour with a bit of lightening and cut restyle, similar to inspo pics but can be flexible.

Hair needs to be natural or light if coloured and long and one length.

All models will need to come in for a consultation and strand test prior to next Wednesday.

🎨🏆 VARDA PURE COLOUR COMPETITION WINNERS! 🏆🎨

A huge congratulations to our talented Varda Academy students who were recognised at today's assembly for their amazing work in our Pure Colour Competition! 👏

We were blown away by the creativity, technical skills and beautiful colour transformations!

🏆 Best Creative Colour – Year 1: Dakota Karlin
Fantastic foil application and a beautiful, even colour result on very long hair with previous box colour. Great toner selection to create a gorgeous caramel finish!

🏆 Best Creative Colour – Year 2: Konnie Kingi
Beautiful complementary colours and impressive technical skills! The creative sectioning and stunning curls really showcased the colour work.

🏆 People's Choice: Riley Goodwin
A gorgeous colour result with beautiful blow-dry and styling work. The whole team loved this look!

🌟 Special Runner-Up Award: Molly Swney
We couldn't go past this amazing transformation! Considering the previous colour, the result was too good not to recognise, so we added a special award!

💗 A massive thank you to Southern Salon Supplies for supporting our competition and to the lovely Lorna from SSS for coming along to present the awards at today's assembly.

We are so proud of all our students who entered. What a fantastic display of talent, creativity and hard work! ✂️❤️

Our amazing Varda Academy students recently took part in Shave for a Cure at St Johns College, doing an awesome job shaving the hair of both students and teachers to help raise money for an incredible cause! ✂️👏
