We’ve noticed some of you taking a cheeky shortcut through the garden at Moana Pool car park.
Good news - we’ve got you sorted!
On Tuesday 23 June, we’re putting in a proper new path so you can get to your car without going full cross-country mode. No more muddy shoes or garden gymnastics, just a smooth new path to take you to your pool adventures!

Te Puna o Whakaehu Spa Closure Update

We recently closed the pool for three weeks to replace a number of broken tiles. When we refilled it, a significant tile failure occurred, leaving the spa pool unusable.

We have commissioned an independent report to identify the cause and recommend the best solution. Based on current information, we expect repairs to take 4 - 6 months. We will confirm timing once the report is complete.

All repair work is covered under defects liability, so there is no cost to Council. We apologise for the disruption and appreciate our users’ patience while we resolve the issue.

Moana Pool is hosting the South Island Canoe Polo Championships this weekend with some disruptions to pool space expected:

👉Saturday 13 June | all deep end of the Main Pool, 9.15am - 6.45pm
👉Sunday 14 June | all deep end of the Main Pool, 7.30am - 11am.

The Old Dive Pool will also be closed from 8.45am on Saturday until 11.45am on Sunday.
Parking may be difficult so allow extra time. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Te Puna o Whakaehu: Pool Closure, Tuesday 9th June

Te Puna o Whakaehu will be closed Tuesday 9th June. This is to allow for time sensitive, electrical works in the plant room, which unfortunately, can’t take place after normal operating hours.

The contingency day for these works is Tuesday 16th June.

Just Swim will reach out directly to their customers around what this means for classes.
