We’re getting a new social T20 team together with 4 Shore this summer and we’re looking for a few more to join the crew.

Haven’t played in years? No stress. Can only make the odd Saturday? Sweet. It’s all about a bit of cricket, good mates and a few at 4 Shore afterwards.

Saturdays, 2–5pm. All abilities welcome.

🏆 2026 PRIZE GIVING 🏆

That’s a wrap on another season at Sumner Rugby.

A night to celebrate the players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and everyone who makes this club what it is. From the first whistle to the final awards, there’s plenty to be proud of.

Congratulations to all of our award winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who played their part throughout the season. 💙

Here’s to the people, the memories and everything that makes Sumner Rugby what it is.

Strictly Sumner is almost here and we need a few extra wonderful people to help make the magic happen.

We have been completely overwhelmed by the support from our community so far — this event simply would not be possible without it.

As a small thank you, a limited number of grandstand tickets will be available for our overnight-security volunteers and some of those assisting with the more physical set-up work.

A huge congratulations to our SRFC boys selected to represent their regions and provinces in 2026.

From Waitaha and the Canterbury Cavaliers through to South Canterbury, NPC and Canterbury U20 - we’re proud to see you boys pulling on the jersey and representing beyond Sumner.

SUNDAY AUGUST 16. 2pm kick off.

WELCOME TO SUMNER RUGBY GALA AFTERNOON!!

Come on down to St Leonard's on Sunday for a fun filled hour of Footy and get a feel for the fun that Golden Oldies rugby provides. Just because it says Oldies, it is open to people of all ages and genders, especially all generations of one family. We have 3 or 4 Dads who get to share the field with their sons and daughters and this brings the good vibes all round. We welcome anyone to participate(even danny)

Even better than the fun on the field is the atmosphere after the game. Fully Stocked bar for all ages and a top notch spread all on offer for everyone!!

Everybody is welcome The Laz Supporters, Sumner Rugby Die Hards an Mums and Dads, bring the kids and all your boots, and have a go at the less physical but no less fun version of Rugby.
