We're fresh from polishing off the third of five days of the trip, and the past three days have been more eventful than we could have anticipated. Over the first two days we battled gale-force headwinds and rain. Thankfully the surreal views through the Molesworth and Rainbow Valleys made up for what it lacked in weather. While we had to turn back a mere 35km from Lake Rotoiti on day two, due to the road being closed through the top of the Rainbow Valley, our spirits failed to crack courtesy of our accom and Hot pool therapy in Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa and the Heritage Hanmer Springs.
Upon kick off this morning we knew we were in for a ripper, having been blessed with the same wind we'd wrestled for two days, decided to lend us a hand and throw us down the valley to Kaiteriteri, alongside the beautiful Moutere River. Upon arrival to Kaiteri we were greeted with Blue Skies, cabins at Kaiteriteri Beach, and a cold MOA BEER upon arrival.
Huge thanks to everyone who's helped us get to where we are, and contributed to the Give a little! Another massive thanks goes to our support crew, who've put up, and continue to put up with countless hours of driving, filming, and accommodating for our never-ending needs.
Two days to go, with a leisurely cruise along the Tasman Coastal Trail tomorrow, before we tackle the Maungatapu Track come Friday. Until then, keep the donations coming on www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/boxedforkaik and we'll talk to you soon.
Cheers,
Boys of Boxed
