📢 We’re pleased that Canterbury Rugby League, with the support of New Zealand Rugby League and BCITO, will be holding one of their CRL Hui Series evenings here at Shirley Rugby League Club.

These hui are designed to support our rugby league community both on and off the field. They bring together players, whānau, and club members to focus on well-being, resilience, and life beyond the game, while also highlighting career pathways and trade opportunities.

The evenings will include:
• NZRL well-being session for players
• Information about trade careers and pathways
• Opportunities to learn about paid apprenticeships
• Support and guidance from BCITO for players of all ages

📣 Volunteer Social Media Coordinator Wanted

Shirley Rugby League Club is looking for a voluntary Social Media Coordinator to help grow our exposure and engagement on Facebook and build our presence on Instagram.

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting real world experience in social media, digital content, and community marketing. You’ll be trusted with responsibility, supported by the club committee, and able to build strong examples of work for your CV or portfolio.

⏱ Around 1–1.5 hours per week
📅 Busiest between April and August
📲 Some Thursday or Friday evening work during the season for team naming posts

If you have an eye for design, strong attention to detail, are confident with technology and Canva, and want to help grow a local rugby league club, we’d love to hear from you.

Hawks whānau, we’d love to see you all at our end-of-year Christmas Party. It’s a relaxed chance for our juniors, seniors, and their families to come together and wrap up the year well — everyone’s welcome.

Junior players, coaches, and managers can also collect a Hawks T-shirt, thanks to the support of the Rātā Foundation.
