Out of hundreds of horses in the catalogue, Jose was the first we put our hand up for in the ring, and he’s developed in all the right ways since. In Chad’s eyes, he’s a genuinely classy c**t.

Linky’s expert opinion 🐴

At Equifest on Saturday, our resident 9-year-old horsewoman Lincoln decided Boblee was feeling a little too fresh, and that maybe Mum and Dad don’t quite know what they’re doing with his feed 😂

So she took matters into her own hands and went straight to the expert: Gretel, the equine nutritionist at Dunstan Horse Feeds.

Here’s what Linky found out:

If your horse sweats a lot, don’t forget extra salts! This is really important going into summer ☀️
If your pony is a bit on the hot side but still needs to be well conditioned, look their best and handle a big workload, Dunstan Low GI is a really good option

So Boblee might be getting a menu change… 👀

If you’ve got a pony who runs a bit hot, this might help you too!

How good is it to have someone like Gretel on hand to talk through specialised feeds? We’re really lucky to have Dunstan supporting our team, and we’ve worked with Gretel to develop our very own custom Riverrock Mix 🙌

Eight months ago, a group of people took a chance on us and a young horse. Today, that chance paid off. 🐎

When we bought Mateo (Pierata x La Sicilina) for NZ$66,000, we saw something in him. Our Ready to Run syndicate trusted our judgement and came along for the ride, sharing every step of his preparation with us.

Today at Inglis Ready 2 Race sale for A$450,000 (around NZ$550,000).

A huge thank you to our team. The education, polish, care and attention they put into this horse showed in how he travelled, how well conditioned he arrived, and how beautifully he handled himself over there. That doesn’t happen by accident, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

And congratulations to his new connections, Liam Howley. You couldn’t have found a cooler horse. We’ll be following him closely and can’t wait to see what he does next.

Now we get to take Mateo, and our wonderful Ready to Run syndicate owners, across the ditch to Sydney. Excited and nervous all at once!

A win for the whole family today. 🤍

Oh Sweet Darling saluted first-up, fresh and still a little underdone, which makes it all the sweeter.

And what a story behind it:

🏆 Chad trained a winner for his mother-in-law, Mary-Jane, a small thank you for all the help she gives us.
🏆 Our stable apprentice Oh, rode his first winner in the Riverrock colours, good on you Oh!

Days like this are why we do what we do. Huge congratulations to everyone involved, and thanks to the whole team behind her. 🍀
