In 2024 we launched 'GTGO Workshop' to refurbish unwanted bikes, and encourage locals to get out biking! Got To Get Out is a social enterprise that is all about getting people outdoors, active, seeing the world and making new friends

This group was born from the premise that

people seem to have stopped getting out into nature.. So we host regular adventures and post information to help inspire our fans to reconnect with the outdoors. We aren't here to make money off tickets, we want to lower the barriers to entry to get people into the outdoors. Event invites are offered via this page along with the price (if any) so you can decide which activity you want to join. Events cater for a range of skill sets and we always let you know how tough a trip will be ahead of time. Behind the scenes, group founder and host Robert Bruce is a Kiwibank New Zealander of the year Local Hero for his work getting people outdoors. He was the manager of high profile marketing business that was all about creating unique and memorable experiences for brands. Now he wants to create experiences for people to help them meet new friends, and to have amazing experiences they might not have otherwise had. Expect these weekend missions to include adventures like: hiking, cycling, sailing, surfing, paddle-boarding, road trips, ski missions, and other excursions that are unique and fun!
