Our focus is on development We have Senior, College, Intermediate and Primary Grades and Welcome any coaches or volunteers. This was our first club. From the outset, the club has received huge support from friends and family and that remains the case today even though the 'club' has grown. Although the sport of netball was the club's main focus, the members soon spread their interests to other thi
ngs such as cultural activities (mainly Cook Island, Maori and Samoan cultural performances). The members realised that there were those within the community who found it difficult financially to take part in any sport. This saw members coming up with different ways of raising funds for those wanting to play netball. This later spread to basketball, touch football, tennis and more recently, Team or Olympic Handball. The membership of the netball club comprised mainly of female players. With the introduction of basketball, the membership became more diverse. The focus however remained the same. In 2001, it was decided to incorporate the main body of the organisation as a charitable trust. The Shirkhan Tigers Sports and Cultural 1984 Charitable Trust was therefore incorporated in 2001 although it's activities stem from back in 1984. The Trust trades under the trading name of Shirkhan Foundation. The words 'Shirkhan Tigers' is a registered trade mark with the names:
