Great morning everyone, Stephen and I are back from Australia and the Knox Vintage Bash. It was a great weekend and great to race on dirt and 1/10 track. Tight, and flowing, the guys did a great job given the pressures they were under. Many thanks to all involved.
We now look forward to what Vintage options are on the horizon for RIR, next weekend, Nov 14/15 is the Super5 finals, Masterton on Saturday and here on Sunday. Vintage Pre96 G27 motors for 2wd and 4wd are on offer. We then wait until Wellington Anniversary Weekend for the GKR Classic in Auckland and then Auckland Anniversary Weekend sees what will be the final VOFest for us at RIR. Instead, I will be talking to the CMR and Masterton crews and see if we can make a Tri-series for the cars working around the current calendar.
I did have an off-road race scheduled for this Sunday, but with the Masterton Champs just been and Super5 next weekend, I will pull this date and give you all a chance to catch your breathe.
Then we have the Inaugural NZ Off-road Grand Prix here on the 29th. 4 classes only, 2wd Buggy, 4wd Buggy, Trucks (both SCT and ST) and E-buggy. Everything else is open. Qualifying is open for each class for 20minutes. Your single best lap is what counts, and to make it to Q2, you have to be in the top 12 lap times. You now have 4 minutes to set your lap, the top 6 cars moving to Q3, while 7-12 are now the girds for the final. Q3 is the top 6 cars, 2 minutes only and this sets the grid for the 35 lap final. All cars get to race in a final, the lower finals are 15 laps in length.
This is not your normal race meeting, to win you will need a strategy, speed and some luck. Hope to see all of you to get involved, as it is a great way to race!
Dirt Oval will be on Friday, 6pm to 9pm. Entry is online at the NZRCA page, try and get your details in early please.
New Traxxas Slash arriving this week, I'll work out some special deals for these, including trade-ins and maybe a raffle to win one! PR Order also due this week, new centre diff upgrades for the SB401 will be in this order, plus parts for regular maintance.
And finally test day will be Wednesday this week as I am unavailable Thursday, so get them charged up and we will see you here then from 3.30pm
