Always proud of our Rugby Teams and their respect they have for others. Even better when is is recognised by others.
Thank you Burger Fuel Rolleston. Way to go MC U16's

Good morning.
Just wanted to take a moment to pass on some positive feedback regarding your under 16s boys who visited BurgerFuel Rolleston while in the area for their rugby tournament.
It was an absolute pleasure to have them come in. I was genuinely impressed with their behaviour, manners and respect shown to our staff. They also cleaned up after themselves which was great to see. I also had a friend of mine, who is the Junior President at Kirwee Rugby Club, independently mention how impressed they were with the boys’ manners, while they were playing there,
I believe. It’s always great to hear positive things about our young people in the community. And I think it’s important that we take the time to acknowledge it when they get things right. Please pass on my congratulations to the boys, their coaches and everyone involved in their development. They are a credit to their families, their clubs, and the Mid Canterbury Rugby Union. Well done, and keep up the great work.
Kind regards,
John Walters

Thank You, Mid Canterbury

As the dust settles on our Heartland Championship campaign, we want to say a massive thank you to the Mid Canterbury community for the incredible support throughout the season.

While the result didn’t go our way on Saturday, the support from the Mid Canterbury community was something truly special. From our Ranfurly Shield challenge against Otago in July, right through to the Meads Cup Final, our community got behind the Hammers every step of the way.

Whether you packed the sidelines at the Showgrounds, travelled away, volunteered your time, sponsored the team, or cheered us on from afar, you played a part in our journey.

This team is incredibly proud to represent Mid Canterbury, and the connection between the Hammers and our community is what makes rugby in our region so special.

Thank you for riding the highs and lows with us throughout 2026. We're proud of what we achieved together, and we'll be back stronger in 2027.

Huge shout out to Lucy and the team at Fern & Feta Catering. You look after us so well, and we love working with you all. Thanks for another great season at MCRU.

🌿 Thank you, you absolute bunch of legends as just like that, we’re now FULLY BOOKED until 2027 (excluding Christmas Eve salads, hams & platters!!)

🙌 What an absolute whirlwind of a year!

🥰 This business was never meant to be what it is and I always find myself having a wee quiet chuckle which sometimes other people catch me do and really must think I’m a right wack job (my friends would assure them they’re right!) 😂

🍑 I just want to say thanks so much for all the bookings this year - we’ve got some frigging EXCITING events we’re catering for. We’re changing a few things around (not that my team knows this yet: Woops! 😅) and I can’t wait to show you!!
