A reminder that due to the Allan Cowan Memorial competition in town we do not have a tourney on at TurfBar this Sunday, it is on Sunday the 9th (next Sunday) instead!

Since August is a busy time with big tournaments, the end of the MidCanterbury interpub comp, and calving season getting underway we have made this tournament a bit more informal.

Pot-the-Lot Challenge.

Players must register and pay in by 11am on Sunday 9th August. Doors open at 10.30am. You can pay your $15 entry fee via online banking or pay Amy cash in person before the day if you still want to sleep in.

Once registered and paid, you can play your 5 attempts at anytime on the day before 7pm. Attempts must be played at TurfBar and will be witnessed by a controller.

You will be given a little score sheet to fill in with all 5 of your attempts and when you are done it will be signed off by a controller and go in the scorebox. This comp is blind scored. You will not be able to see what other people have managed to score.

Results will be typed up with barstaff as witnesses and relased on the page at around 8pm on the day. Winner will be contacted to arrange transfer of half the entry fees. If we get a good amount of entries (30+) and there is a clear 2nd placer we will do another quarter of the fees as a prize for them.

In the final week of round 2 the Turf Flamingos scored a 9:6 win against Dads Army and Turf Tribe managed 3 points against the Devon.

Semi finals will take place in the evening on Wednesday the 12th of August, locations to be announced at the end of round 2. Finals day is Saturday the 29th of August at the MSA.

Turf Flamingos were on BYE last night so no change in points but they have dropped to 5th overall.

Turf Tribe played an awesome marathon at the Blue Pub last night, finishing at approximately midnight! They gained 5 points for their total with some really impressive safety play in one of the games.
