Meet Larissa de Wit, one of the archers on our Pro Staff team.
Larissa competes in the barebow discipline and enjoys taking part in both target and 3D archery events.

Over the past seasons, she has gained competition experience at both national and international level, achieving several notable results along the way.

🇬🇧 Soft nocking points are a simple and reliable choice for traditional bows shot off the shelf. 🏹

Here’s how to tie them 👇

1️⃣ Prepare the thread
Cut two pieces of serving thread and run them through hot melt for extra grip and a secure finish.

2️⃣ Position the bow square
String the bow, clip the bow square onto the string and let the long side lightly touch the shelf.

3️⃣ Set the lower nocking point
Position the lower nocking point about 8 millimetres above square as a starting point.

4️⃣ Tie the lower nocking point
Make five to six flat knots on each side of the string. Keep them tight and neatly aligned.

5️⃣ Add the upper nocking point
Nock an arrow, place the upper nocking point just above it and repeat the same knotting process.

6️⃣ Secure the ends
Trim the thread, carefully burn the ends and gently press them against the knots to secure everything.

Why it matters:

🎯 Accuracy & Consistency
A correctly placed nocking point helps the arrow leave the string from the same position every time.

🔒 Secure & Reliable
Two nocking points prevent the arrow from moving up or down along the string.

🪶 Light & Comfortable
Soft nocking points add very little weight and feel comfortable on the fingers.

🇳🇱 Nokpunten van servingdraad zijn een eenvoudige en betrouwbare keuze voor traditionele bogen waarbij je vanaf de shelf schiet. 🏹

Zo knoop je ze 👇

1️⃣ Bereid het draad voor
Knip twee stukken servingdraad en haal ze door de hot melt voor extra grip en een stevige afwerking.

2️⃣ Plaats de peeshaak
Span de boog, plaats de peeshaak op de pees en laat de lange zijde de shelf licht raken.

3️⃣ Bepaal het onderste nokpunt
Plaats het onderste nokpunt als uitgangspunt ongeveer 8 millimeter boven haaks.

4️⃣ Knoop het onderste nokpunt
Maak aan beide kanten van de pees vijf tot zes platte knopen. Zorg dat ze strak en netjes op elkaar aansluiten.

5️⃣ Plaats het bovenste nokpunt
Nok een pijl, plaats het bovenste nokpunt vlak boven de nok en herhaal dezelfde knoopmethode.

6️⃣ Werk de uiteinden af
Knip het draad af, brand de uiteinden voorzichtig en druk ze zacht tegen de knopen om alles stevig vast te zetten.

Waarom dit belangrijk is:

🎯 Nauwkeurigheid & Consistentie
Een goed geplaatst nokpunt helpt de pijl steeds vanaf dezelfde positie van de pees te vertrekken.

🔒 Stevig & Betrouwbaar
Twee nokpunten voorkomen dat de pijl tijdens het schot omhoog of omlaag over de pees beweegt.

🪶 Licht & Comfortabel
Nokpunten van servingdraad voegen nauwelijks gewicht toe en voelen prettig aan de vingers.

🇬🇧 Pro Staff Spotlight Kevin Peetermans 🏹

Meet Kevin Peetermans, one of the recurve archers on our Pro Staff team and currently the only Belgian archer representing Team Dutch Bow Store.

Alongside his own development in the sport, Kevin has the ambition to become an archery coach in the future. One of his long-term goals is earning a place on the Belgian national archery team, known as the Yellow Arrows.

Over the years, he has competed in several regional and national competitions, achieving strong results across different distances and categories.

Maak kennis met Kevin Peetermans, één van de recurve schutters binnen ons Pro Staff team en momenteel de enige Belgische schutter die Team Dutch Bow Store vertegenwoordigt.

Naast zijn eigen ontwikkeling binnen de sport heeft Kevin de ambitie om in de toekomst trainer te worden. Eén van zijn langetermijndoelen is daarnaast een plek veroveren binnen de Belgische nationale handboogploeg, ook bekend als de Yellow Arrows.

Door de jaren heen heeft hij deelgenomen aan verschillende regionale en nationale wedstrijden, met sterke resultaten op meerdere afstanden en disciplines.
