Last week, we opened our doors to the Balearic Marine Cluster and introduced them to our ReCraft approach. We welcomed the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with this key maritime hub and to give a full tour of our shipyard.

Our two greatest strengths at Balk Shipyard are our facilities and our people. The Balearic Marine Cluster got to meet both. We have three state-of-the-art and climate-controlled construction halls, designed specifically for ReCraft and refit works for both motor and sailing yachts up to 65 metres in length.

Another key asset of our yard is our shiplift. It’s truly unique. Custom-built for Balk Shipyard, this lift has a load capacity in excess of 1,000 tonnes and does not rely on hoists or slings when hauling out and launching yachts. It is an incredibly secure and efficient way to transport a yacht, and does not place any stress points on hulls.

It was a real pleasure to host the Balearic Marine Cluster during their northern European shipyard tour, with stops at Feadship, Oceanco, and Vitters Shipyard.

Belle de Jour is back in the water after a concentrated, four-month pre-season shipyard appointment. This compact superyacht was originally built in 2013 to a design by Pieter Beeldsnijder, and has now been at Balk Shipyard twice to preserve her pedigree.

Balk Shipyard worked closely with Flevo Ship Holland on this programme of works. Her redelivery is imminent.

The 29.26m Belle de Jour is back out of the shed.

Built in 2013 by Flevo Ship Holland to a design by Pieter Beeldsnijder, Belle de Jour is an exceptional Dutch yacht. She has been with Balk Shipyard for a four-month pre-season service, and will now undergo final works ahead of her extended summer.

As one comes out, another can come in

With Awatea back in the water and undergoing final finishing ahead of delivery, we can now welcome another project to our shipyard. A slot is available in one of our state-of-the-art construction halls, all of which feature full temperature control and comprehensive facilities for all types of work, from spot maintenance to full ReCrafts.

Within these halls, legacies have been maintained and preserved for yachts up to 65 metres. Balk Shipyard has written the next chapter for many masterpieces of the sea, built by our neighbouring Dutch colleagues.

Now is the time to enquire should you require works ahead of the forthcoming season.

When a superyacht requires a complex refit, owners and management companies consistently look north. Northern Europe, and the Netherlands in particular, attracts the most technically demanding superyacht refit projects in the world.

The reason is not infrastructure alone. It is the ability to manage risk, absorb complexity, and protect the crew from the operational disruption that a poorly planned refit inevitably creates.
