✨ You see the five front rowing exercises here:

From the Waist • From the Hips • The Hug • The Shave • The Serving

✨ In the advanced straight leg sitting position.

✨ In this, you will feel how you are pulled in all directions by the springs.

✨ But for that, you will need to maintain full contact to the handles with your palms and keep an elongated upright position, also when the support of the springs resistance drops.

✨ It is tempting to allow the front ribs to pop out, so you will really need to feel into your limits:

• when would your abdominals want to give in
• when would your arm movement be about to reach the end range of motion

✨ Just as for all types of rowing exercises, here you also need to move the arms from the back.

✨ And for that, you will need to find how to position and hold your shoulders, elbows and wrists. ✨

✨ The first two in the reformer rowing series are the most complicated choreographically.

This is why at lower levels we teach only some elements of them, to make sure you get the key points of each, before you are given the full exercises as it is shown on this video.

✧ Other difficult points of these moves are that you always stay connected to the springs. So you control when and how the carriage will close, and how to move and reach out at the arms from the back, with powerful connections at the shoulder blades.

✨ These exercises will also beautifully lengthen and stretch your back chain, which you will need for some other works later in the series.
