West Fargo Flyer ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐น๐๐๐ฎ๐ฑ will be competing for Indiana at the very first CSL meet!
The CSL is completely different from a normal swim meet. The league has special rules designed specifically to turn swimming into an entertaining, fast-paced TV sport.
Here are some of the differences:
โก ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ.
In traditional NCAA swimming, two colleges show up, sit on opposite sides of the pool, and swim a long list of events that can take hours. The CSL puts four teams in the pool at the exact same time.
โก ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐.
Normal college teams might bring their whole team to a meet. The CSL restricts each team to a strict, highly competitive roster of 14 men and 14 women, and each school only gets two entries per event.
โก ๐ข๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ.
Usually, men's and women's college teams are scored completely separately. In the CSL, the points earned by the men and women are combined into one score for the university.
โก ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ.
This is where things get REALLY interesting. These are back-to-back, rapid-fire knockout sprint rounds. Multiple swimmers start a 50-yard sprint, and the slowest swimmers are immediately eliminated. The survivors get just a few minutes to catch their breath before diving right back in to do it again.
This continues until only two swimmers are left for a final head-to-head showdown. The Skins Race rewards grit, speed and the ability to recover quickly.

Traditional swim meets are packed with downtime, lots of heats, and a focus on individual times. The CSL is designed specifically for a two-hour television window on ESPN, with an emphasis on team standings, bracket-style scoring and nonstop action.
The 12 teams competing in the 2026โ2027 College Swimming League:
๐๐๐: California, Louisville, NC State, Stanford and Virginia
๐๐ถ๐ด ๐ง๐ฒ๐ป: Indiana, Michigan and Ohio State
๐ฆ๐๐: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee
