A Busy weekend !!!

First up Munster juveniles u15-u19 at MTU cork. Well done to all who travelled over the weekend to participate in Munster T&F and represented themselves and the club so well. Some lovely sunshine over the weekend. Some great results and some medal winners .. 👏👏

Gracie Kinahan- u15 200m - 3rd 🥉
Daniel Murphy -u17 3000m - 2nd 🥈 (first track race! 👏)
Saoirse Fitzgerald - u18 800m - 1st 🥇 Munster Champion
Nancy Maher - u18 800m - 3rd 🥉
Stephen O’Hara - u19 1500m - 1st 🥇 Munster Champion
Ronan Ryan - u19 1500m - 2nd 🥈

In the UK on Saturday we have Ciara Rohan running the 3000m at the Loughborough Grand Prix and what a run she had in the women’s A paced race. Ciara has not run this distance on the track since last year and ran a huge PB of 9.44. Fantastic Ciara well done. Hope you enjoyed the trip.

Also on Saturday Trish Jackman was competing in the LDN 5000’s , competing in the women’s A race running a big PB also on the night of 16.01.5, finishing in 6th place overall.

Best of luck to all the WAC athletes competing at the Munster Juvenile Track & Field Championships this weekend in MTU Cork.

Sprints, jumps, and middle-distance are the main events entered for our gang and we wish them all the best as they represent the club on the provincial stage. Stay calm, do your best and enjoy..

At MTU last Saturday/Sunday , we had a number of athletes competing in the Munster Athletics U20/Seniors & Master Track and Field Championships.

Richard Somtoo Moudilim qualified from this 100m heat in the morning, and followed up with a Bronze medal in the Final. Well done to Richard on his first Munster Championships performances , and medal.

In the Men M55 Masters category Tom O'Brien was 1st in the High Jump and Long Jump, third in the 100m sprint

Well done to Richard & Tom.

IMC Dublin Saturday June 6th

Wet conditions but fast and competitive races…

Special mention to Matteo Mary who won his the 1500m men’s A race yesterday at the IMC Dublin meet at Irishtowb in a SB of 3.51. It was a special day for Matteo who has been plagued with illness and injury this year and who was delighted to make a welcome return to competing, and did so in style! We look forward to Matteo competing again soon. Well done Matteo . 👏

Also competing in the 1500m races at IMC were Ciara Rohan and Stephen O’Hara. Ciara has had a busy racing schedule of late and ran another great 1500m in the women’s A race finishing in 4.35.

Stephen ran in the 1500m C men’s race and finished in 4.12.

Dungarvan Leader Dromana 5 mile

WAC was well represented at the Dromona 5 Mile yesterday, Friday June 5th. It was a very wet evening but as always our members put in some great performances and had some super results , enjoying the scenic and hilly course from Villierstown to Cappoquin.

We had some prize winners, fantastic.

Siobhan Heylin - 5th lady in 32.52
