Passage West Rowing Club

Passage West Rowing Club Amateur sports rowing team that has been rowing the river of passage for well over 30 years. It's a very family orientated club, much like the sport itself.

Rowing boats such as Timber Yawl boats, One Design Coastal Boats and Offshore FISA Coastal boats. Passage West Rowing Club is one of the oldest rowing clubs in Cork Harbour, currently residing in its position in the heart of the town since 1914. The club has experienced many great times in recent years, growing in terms of members, stature and success.

Best of luck to Rob who will be competing in the flatwater World Rowing Masters Regatta at Lake Bled, Slovenia this week!

He will be competing in the Men's Coxed Four, Men's Single, Men's Eight and Mixed Eight categories over the next 4 days, representing the Defence Forces Rowing Club.

Kenmare Offshore Regatta 🚣

We headed to Kenmare yesterday to one of our favourite regattas of the year! We had a brilliant day on the water with some fantastic performances, great results and plenty of valuable racing experience gained.

🏅 J14 Girls Doubles
Huge congratulations to Naima & Gia on taking home the silver medals! 👏
Well done also to Kate & Carly, who rowed their first ever double race and gained some fantastic experience.

💪 J14 Girls Quads
Saoirse, Naima, Kate & Carly, coxed by Moth, had a great race taking home the win, followed by Gia, Hayleigh, Tali & Clodagh, coxed by Alan, who finished 4th.
This was the first offshore race for Hayleigh, Tali and Clodagh — well done girls! 🌊👏

🥇 J16 Girls Doubles
Fantastic navigation skills from Saoirse and Eva as they guided their boats through the group of 14 total boats with Ava & Isabel coming home 1st and Saoirse & Eva 4th, just missing out on the medals in a very competitive category.

🥇 J16 Girls Quad
The two doubles came together to form a quad, with Isabel, Ava, Saoirse & Eva, coxed by Moth, taking 1st place! 🏆

🥇 J18 Girls Singles
Excellent racing from Róisín, taking 1st, and Ava, finishing 3rd. Ava still has another three years left in the category! 👏

🥇 J18 Girls Double
Róisín and Evie had a very commanding lead in this race and brought home the gold. This was Evie's first offshore race!

🚣‍♂️ J18 Boys Double
Aaron & Tommy took on the double and gained some great racing experience ahead of Bantry next weekend.

A huge well done to all our rowers and coxes for the effort, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.

All focus now turns to Bantry next Saturday for the National Junior Offshore Championships where we have 9 crews looking forward to racing.

All Irelands Day 2 | Seniors

Day 2 started strong with our Vet Men finishing 2nd, Vet Women composite with Ballycotton securing 3rd and Pre Vet Mixed taking the 1st spot!

Later on there was the Mixed Masters composite with Blackrock, followed by Junior Men, Junior Ladies and Senior Men.

The Inter Ladies took the lead in their race and never slowed down, claiming 1st place and at last 2nd and 6th were earned by our Senior Ladies A and B boat respectively to finish off our time at this year's All Irelands.

All Irelands Day 1 | Seniors Pt. 1

First day for our senior rowers started with a Women's Masters composite crew with Edermine Ferry, followed by the Pre Vet Men race where we had 2 crews competing. The A boat secured 2nd place while the B boat took 5th.

Next up was Pre Vet women where we earned another 2nd place and then we had Junior Mixed win by a comfortable margin! Inter Mixed came right after this and we took the 3rd spot.

All Irelands Day 1 | Seniors Pt. 2

Continuing on day one, our Senior Mixed claimed 1st place, hereby breaking the curse we've had in this category at the All Irelands!

Following this was our U21 Women who took 3rd place and finally finishing off day 1 with the Mixed Vets race.

Very solid showing from our seniors on day 1. 💚

Massive congratulations to Josh Kelly who has been selected to represent Ireland in the Junior Mixed 2x category at the Home International Beach Sprints in Nairn, Scotland next month.

All Irelands Day 2 | Juniors

Today started with 3 rounds of heats which resulted in our U12 boy's A boat, both U16 men's boats and both U14 girl's boats making it through to the finals.

Throughout the day we had crews in U18 women, U12 boys final, U16 men, U14 girls, U12 mixed final, U14 mixed and U16 mixed. Everyone rowed valiantly and showed great strength in each of their races with many people rowing more than once.

Near the end of the day we had our U18 mixed crew who secured 3rd, and the U12 boys and U14 girls plate finals with the boys taking 3rd!

Huge thank you to all of the parents who dedicated their weekend to bringing our incredible juniors out to Farran for the All Irelands! 🤍

All Irelands Day 1 | Juniors

Day 1 kicked off with the U16 women's heats which we had 3 boats in (very exciting!). 2 crews made it to the finals where our A boat came 2nd amidst some tough competition.

The U12 girls and U12 mixed heats was up next for us with the girls taking 4th and the mixed crew making it to the finals the next day.

That's a wrap on our 2026 PWRC Summer Camp! 🚣🧁🦀

We finished off day 3 with a rowing session, followed by some delicious cupcakes kindly made by Ríonagh, before ending the camp with some crab fishing. We then gathered together for our presentation and prize giving, which was a fantastic way to round off three brilliant days of fun, learning and teamwork.

A huge thank you to all of our coaches and volunteers who gave up their time to make this year's camp such a success, to Peter, Ríonagh, Keith, Adrian, Kim, Terezia, Nicola, Fiona, Eva, Ella, Hayleigh, Isobel, Krystian and Oscar. Your time, enthusiasm and commitment made the camp a fantastic experience for all of the kids.

Finally, thank you to all of the parents for your continued support and, most importantly, to every child who took part. Your energy, willingness to learn and smiles made the past three days so enjoyable. We hope you all had a brilliant time, and we look forward to seeing you back on the water again soon! 🚣💚🤍
