Hey, it’s James Quinlivan at Moyvalley Golf Club. In this video, I’m going to show you how to hit a chip-and-run shot.
For this shot, I use a 9 iron and my goal is to land the ball between the 4 tees I’ve placed in the ground as my landing spot. This gives me a very focused practice session and helps improve my chipping for all types of courses by training me to land the ball exactly where I want.
For me, this is the best way to practice the chip-and-run shot because you’re not just randomly hitting different shots. Instead, you’re focused on repeating the same flight over and over again, which builds consistency and confidence around the greens.
Hope this helps your golf game in 2026!
