South Lake Masters are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ciara Mageean. Ciara was so generous with her time and recorded several videos (in one of them she even climbed into the bath!!) to help us promote our "Swim 4 Oran" Open Water event in 2019 in aid of the Children's Heartbeat Trust. Using her sense of humour and humilty, she undoubtedly encouraged many to come and Swim 4 Oran and we were so very grateful.

Irish Sport has lost a truly inspirational athlete and ambassador. We at SLM wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Ciara's husband Thomas, her parents, family and friends.

Thank you Ciara, for shining your light so bright. May you rest in peace

A massive congratulations to Donal & Gareth, who took on the Amsterdam Marathon at the weekend and brought their hats along for the ride👏👏👏👏

🌍🌊 made a splash at the 106th Liffey Swim in Dublin featuring our club Chairman and coach Francie McAlinden👏🏼

What an incredible day celebrating this iconic event, hosted by Swim Ireland, with swimmers taking on the famous River Liffey challenge. The atmosphere, determination and support along the river made it a day to remember!

Proud to have along for the adventure. 🧡💙

What a fun-filled swimming weekend for South Lake Masters! 🏊‍♀️🌊

The 106th Liffey Swim in Dublin saw Francie, Kelly, Catherine and Kerry take to the water and fly the flag for the club! 👏

Meanwhile, Lee and Jim headed to Bloody Bridge for a refreshing dip. And just to be clear… we definitely did not teach Lee that jumping technique — that’s all her! 😂🙈

Pavel and Kelly also took on the swim around the Point. A tough challenge, but tough swims make strong swimmers! 💪🏊‍♂️

Well done to everyone involved — another brilliant weekend of swimming adventures! 🧡💙

🎩🌍 The hats have been touring, and our swimmers have been swimming… our crew making WAVES this Bank Holiday weekend! 😮‍💨👏🏼🏊‍♀️

Kicking things off with Fiona & Aoife — our mother-daughter duo — taking to Copenhagen! 🇩🇰🏊‍♀️

A 2K swim through the canals of Copenhagen around the Royal Palace ✅ What an experience! The water wasn’t too cold, and it was lovely and clear. Highly recommend adding this one to the list for next year! 🙌🏼

🇮🇹 in Cittadella, Italy with Carla — a gorgeous 50m outdoor pool, sunshine, and of course… pizza and vino to refuel afterwards! 🍕🍷☀️

And wait for it… 👀

💪🏼🎉 NEIL IS OFFICIALLY A MARATHON SWIMMER! 🎉💪🏼

Our Lane One rocket took on a 10K swim in Loch Lomond and absolutely smashed it! Making it look easy — what an incredible achievement! 🏊‍♂️🔥

From Copenhagen to Cittadella to Loch Lomond… our swimmers are certainly keeping the hats busy! 🎩🌍

What a crew. What a weekend. What a way to make waves! 🌊👏🏼

Huge congratulations to Aoife, Kelly, Fiona and Tess on completing the challenging open water swim from Omeath to Warrenpoint and back to Omeath🏊🏼‍♀️🏊🏼‍♀️🏊🏼‍♀️

A fantastic effort from all four — determination, strength and plenty of teamwork!

And a special CONGRATULATIONS to Tess on taking the title of First Female Winner in the Skins! 🏆🥇 What a result!

🌊 CROSS LOUGH SWIM SQUAD TWO — DONE! 🌊

Huge congratulations to Brown Shoes Triathlon Club and especially our very own South Lakes member Kirsten, who took on the Belfast Lough relay at the weekend alongside Karen, Liam and Sharon! 👏🏊‍♀️

The squad made the crossing from Grey Point to Carrickfergus Castle in a fantastic time, with near-perfect conditions making for a spectacular evening on and in the water.

It sounds like they enjoyed every minute — although perhaps the jellyfish could have stayed at home! 🪼😄

👏 Well done, Brown Shoes Triathlon Club — and congratulations Kirsten! 🏊‍♀️💪
