MTR weekend round up!!

Its been another busy weekend for Monaghan Town Runners as many of our Dublin marathon athletes ran their 25/30k training runs over the last few days.

Other MTRs were racing!

On Saturday club members Patricia Lee and Geraldine McCarville took part in the Fitness Habit Family 5k.

Kieran Sherlock took part in the Ardee 10k, coming 4th in a competitive field.

Today, Damien Eannetta took part in the Laganside 10k event.

Well done to all, training or competing over the weekend.

MTR weekend roundup!!

MTRs were busy at the weekend with lots of running events taking place both locally, and further afield!

On Friday a large contingent of club members took part in the Gary Askin Memorial run in Emyvale- Well done to Kieran Sherlock with was first man home!!

Ciara McGuinness was in Sligo for the infamous Warrior Run, a 15k trip up to the top of Knocknarea and back! No bother to our Ciara!

Kieran McMahon and fiance Laura took part in the Very Pink Run in Leopardstown on Saturday.

Ciaran Woods took part in the Abbott Longford Half Marathon and earned himself a new PB!!

Sunday's big event worldwide was the Sydney marathon and Monaghan Town Runners were proudly represented there by Eamon McQuillan!! Eamon performed well on the day, and finished in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House! An opportunity of a lifetime! Well done Eamon!

MTR weekend round up!

All the action took place in Donegal over the weekend as MTR AnnaMarie McCleary took part in the Extreme North Quadrathon in Inishowen. This event comprises of a full or half marathon each day for 4 consecutive days.

The marathons take runners from Moville to Malin, Malin Head, Carndonagh, Balliyliffin, Clonmany, Mamore Gap, Buncrana , M**f, finishing back in Moville on Day 4.

This is AnnaMarie's 7th year taking part in the Warrior event-4 full marathons in 4 days and she came 2nd in her age category.

MTR weekend round up!!

While the main news of the weekend was the Monaghan 10 and 4 Miler, with most of our members helping out, some MTRs were running over the weekend.

MTR Oisin Sweeney was in action 2 days in a row last week. He took on the Carlingford 5k, equalling a recent PB in that distance. He followed this performance with another fast result the following day in a race in Galway!! Go Oisin!!

Club members Danny Murphy and Stephen McDonnell took part in a Last One Standing Challenge in Florencecourt on Saturday and each ran a distance of 67k. Well done boys!!

MTRs Grainne Murray, Fergal McEntee, Paul Bond, Raymond Aughey and Breda McFadden all took part in our 10 miler. All performed well. Both Breda and Fergal ran new PB times and achieved podium success. Congratulations to all!!

Big thanks to all our club members who volunteered on Sunday at our race. Thanks to all who marshalled, made food, served food, set up, presented prizes, took registration and helped with the clean up. Huge appreciation to you all !!
