🥊 Monkstown International Box Cup – A Fantastic Finish to the Season 🥊

What a fantastic weekend at the Monkstown International Box Cup, with our four boxers producing outstanding performances against top-class opposition from Ireland, England and Scotland.

🥉 Paddy Purcell put in a great performance and bowed out in the semi-finals after giving it everything.

🥈 Thomas Reilly had an excellent tournament, defeating the Scottish National Champion on his way to the final. He earned a well-deserved silver medal after losing to a very talented Irish National Champion in a high-quality final.

🥇 Jason McDonagh was outstanding throughout the tournament and claimed gold with a superb victory over the English National Champion in the final.

🥇 Jimmy Hogan also struck gold, producing a brilliant performance to defeat the Irish National Champion in the final and finish the tournament in style.

To come away with 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Semi-Finalist from one of the strongest tournaments on the boxing calendar is a fantastic achievement for our club.

This tournament marks the end of another successful season for Mitchelstown Boxing Club. We’d like to thank all our boxers, coaches, parents, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for their commitment and support throughout the year.

The club will now take a well-deserved summer break, and we’ll be back in August refreshed, motivated and ready for another exciting season.

Yesterday marked our final training session of the season.

We finish the season on a high, with four of our boxers travelling to Dublin to represent the Cork Boxing Team at the Monkstown Box Cup. We’re incredibly proud of them and wish them the very best as they represent both the club and Cork on a big stage.

We’ll now be taking a well-earned month’s break before returning refreshed and ready for another compact, busy season filled with exciting opportunities and the next generation of champions.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing parents for your continued support, encouragement, and commitment throughout the season. Thank you also to all of our incredible kids for your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude at every session. You have all made this season one to remember.

Enjoy the summer break, stay active, and we’ll see you all back in a month’s time, ready to work hard, support one another, and make the next season even better!
