What a fabulous day for a game/games of rounders today,as our Junior Ladies Team heading over to Ballybrown Gaa Club to contest 2 matches today
1st up was against Knockainey, were our women started strong,getting 3 out fairly quick conceding no runs in the 1st Inning,then they stepped up for their batting,and they ran in an impressive 15 runs,leading 15-0,at the start of the 2nd inning,and with some more superb bowling from last years All-Star Louise Kelly ,and back stop Dympna O'Brien, and all our fielders, playing their vital roles,they again held Knockainey scoreless.
St.Senan's up to bat in the 2nd inning and again,there hitting and base running was electric, adding a further 13 runs,and now leading 28-0,
Knockainey then batted on for the next 3 innings to try and catch up,but could only get 1 run.
St.Senan's winning on a scoreline of 28-1,with 3 battings in hand.
2nd Match was against Sporting Limerick, after a nice rest our Ladies were ready to take to the field again,and started the same as the 1st,as they held Sporting to 1 run,and Our Ladies managed to get 6 runs on the board,after the 2nd it was 13-3,after the 3rd it was 20-4,with some great bowling again from Louise,and with some fine catches aswell from Kyra Hogan , Eileen Shine , Tara Hogan and Ruth Sheehy,who not only caught a high ball,but was quick to react and tag her base and get a double out,
Sporting batted on for the next 2 innings to try and catch up,they managed to rack up another 5 runs,but with our Ladies on top form today,it was a tough task
St.Senan's running out 20-9,with 2 battings in hand.
