KEN KIRWAN MEMORIAL CUP

Entries are now being taken for a memorial cup in memory of honorary club member Ken Kirwan with entry fees being donated to charity of the family’s choice.
Ken was a great servant to the CYMS all over the years filling many roles within the club from a player & referee at All Ireland Club Championships in Killarney to a committee member and caretaker and was well known by many in the snooker scene all over Ireland and is and will be missed by many within the club.

Entry fee is €10 and pay for the light.
The entry fee will go towards a charity of the family’s choice.

Closing date for entries is Saturday 19th Sept with the competition to start on Monday 21st.
Pick a night between you and ur opponent that will suit within the requested time frame for each round to be completed.

6 RED COMPETITION

Congratulations to Marc McCarron on beating Sean Devenney in the final of our 6 Red weekly competition.

We’ll be back again at 7pm next Wednesday.

DONEGAL OPEN 2026

The first running of the Donegal Open took place over both Saturday and Sunday this weekend in the CYMS Snooker Club.

With 18 entries there was some exciting entries and some brilliant matches taking place with Sean Devenney v Johnny Williams the stand out match with breaks of 82, 68, 65 and 50+ in best of 7 with Sean coming out on top 4-3.

Sunday started with the 4 semi finalists, Sean Devenney v Aman Goel & Shaun Bonner v Sean Gray.

Sean Devenney (77 break) and Sean Gray came out on top in both games 4-1 to go through to the final.

The final started with Sean Gray taking a 2-0 lead and then Sean Devenney pulling one frame back, 2-1, but with some great snooker from Sean Gray including a 69 in the last, Sean G ran out a 4-1 winner and €1000 winners prize.

Sean Devenney v Sean Gray
