A massive congratulations to club member Darragh Gallagher on winning the Joe Bingham Cup in Antrim Sports Club this past weekend.
A lot of talented players were on show over the weekend there including professional snooker player Aaron Hill.

Darragh overcame Raymond Fry 4-3 in the semi final after being 2-0 down and 3-1 down and showed great composure to come back and win.

In the final he was up against a previous winner Declan Lavery who had just knocked out Aaron Hill 4-3 in his semi final match but Darragh proved too strong in the final and ran out 4-1 winner to claim the trophy.

Another massive achievement at such a young age for Darragh against some very experienced players.

DONEGAL CHAMPIONSHIP SNOOKER FINAL.

Devenney back to back Donegal Champion.

On Monday night past, 1st June, the defending champion Sean Devenney took on the young talent of Darragh Gallagher in the Donegal Snooker Championship Final in a best of 9 in the CYMS Snooker Club.

Arguably the two most in-form players in Donegal Snooker at the moment, a good crowd had come into watch for what was anticipated to be a tight final and that’s just what we got.

The first frame got under way and despite a few nerves maybe showing in the first few shots Sean Devenney got in first and took the first frame with a 27
break to take the first frame and a 26 from Sean in the 2nd frame extended Seans lead in the match to 2-0.

In the 3rd frame Darragh raced out of the blocks with a 31 break and kept that distance to take it comfortably in the 3rd. (2-1)

In the 4th frame Sean showed a bit more of his class with a 55 break to extend his lead in the match by 2 frames again (3-1).
In the 5th frame a 25 & 31 break, including a brilliant shot on the pink to send the white around the table and develop the reds from Sean sent him into a 4-1 lead and just one frame away from winning the title again. (4-1)

In the 6th frame Darragh showed fighting spirit with a good 28 break to make 4-2 and in the 7th frame it was looking like the comeback was well and truly on despite Sean starting with a 30 break, Darragh replied with a 22 break to keep himself in it and a smoker that put Sean in some difficult Darragh raced on to the take the frame and make it 4-3.

In the 8th and what turned out to be the last frame, Sean hit a 20 break and Darragh responded with 28 but Sean put any doubts of a comeback to bed with a 45 clearance to take the match and the title of 2026 Donegal champion for the second time.

A huge congratulations to Sean and also a well done to Darragh at 15yrs old to reach his first Donegal championship final and taking home the Jack McGranaghan Shield for the highest break of 81 in the competition with many more Donegal finals to come I’m sure.

A massive thanks to everyone who entered this years Donegal snooker championship and also to all those who attended on the night for the final including members of Jack McGranaghans family to present the high break prize shield in his memory.

🏆DAN MCLAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CUP FINAL🏆

DARRAGH GALLAGHER CLINCHES ANOTHER TITLE.🏆

The final of the Dan McLaughlin took place last night, Friday 29th between Darragh Gallagher & Anthony Bonner in best of 7.

Darragh got off to a flyer in the first frame with an 85 break and in the second frame a 42 break give him a 2-0 lead.

Anthony responded to take the third in a much scrappier frame before Darragh took the fourth to extend his 2 frame lead to 3-1.

In the fifth Anthony started the comeback to make it 3-2 and in the sixth frame a 45 break was enough to clinch that and take it to a 7th and final frame.

Darragh took an early lead in the final frame and Anthony was unable to claw it back and Darragh took the final and winner of the Dan McLaughlin Memorial Cup 4-3 to clinch another title and is sure to give him a boost for Monday nights Donegal Snooker Championship final.

A massive thanks to Niall McLaughlin coming down to rent the McLaughlin family and present Darragh with the trophy.
