❄️ CARRYING IN THE COLD ❄️

A wee reminder how to stay warm and safe as it gets chilly!

❄️ NO SNOWSUITS!
Snowsuits and pram suits are NOT for in slings. These create over/under heating and poor positioning.

❄️ LAYER UP
Layer up, remembering each layer of a sling or carrier is at least one. Woolie cardies are great. Ensure that scarves don't cover babies face.

❄️COATS OR COVERS
Investing in a babywearing coat is great, but an oversized coat or cover is also good.

❄️COVER EXTREMITIES
If you don't have a coat or cover, concentrate on extremities. Always give baby a hat!

❄️ FOOTWEAR
Be aware of where you are walking and choose appropriate footwear to prevent slips and falls.

Anna (Foy) McPherson is from Inver, Co Donegal and living in Brisbane, Australia. In association with Australia's Griffith University, she is starting research into the benefits & promotion of Breast Feeding in Co. Donegal. Ireland has a very low uptake of breastfeeding with Donegal bottom of the league. Anna would love to hear from the following:
1.The mother of a child born in Co. Donegal in the past two years.
2.The partner of a woman who has given birth to a child in Co. Donegal in the past two years.
3.The grandparent of a child born in Co. Donegal in the last two years.

The Taoiseach has said the Government will do the right thing on calls to extend maternity leave and pay for mothers whose babies were born during the lockdown.
