Babywearing Ireland is a voluntary organisation with an aim to promote and inform about safe babywearing. Kildare Sling Group has been set up by a group of parents as volunteers with a passion for babywearing in order to spread the word on safe babywearing practises within Kildare. Come along to our new sling meet in Kilcock (previously held in Clane). We aim to meet
monthly on the first Wednesday of every month (term time). Sling meets are a volunteer-led opportunity to try new slings and meet other parents and caregivers! Come along for a cuppa & chat Everyone is welcome.
Sling meets are a chance to meet and learn about the benefits of Babywearing and try on slings. Or come along and chat to other parents who babywear. Please note this is a free service but we do ask for a €2 to contribute towards our room rental. Rental Prices (per month):
Wraps/Stretchies/ Ring Slings/
Buckle Carriers/ Mai Tai - €10
Please note a late fee will apply to rentals not retuned on time. A demonstration of all of the basic sling types can be provided. Please note that
Babywearing Ireland Sling Meets are peer-to-peer support meetings, run by volunteers who are experienced babywearers. They are a place where you:
can get information about safe babywearing,
can get hints and tips,
can get assistance in trying on slings,
can hear other people's and share your own experience about using slings,
can ask questions you may have about day-to-day life with slings,
may be able to rent slings for a small fee
learn about other babywearing resources
They are NOT a safe space for in-depth advice and instruction/teaching. Please always check our page/events for information as things can change from time to time. The Kildare Library is self funding and money donated at meets and sling hire goes towards the cost of running Slings Meets and purchasing slings for our Library.
