This course is two laps of our BK5K loop, which is a lovely flat course.

There will be a Junior Race which consists of one 5k lap (aged between 13 - 19)

MARY DOYLE MEMORIAL 5K RUN 2026.

The Annual and popular Mary Doyle Memorial 5k Run was held on Saturday 6th June, 2026 in New Inn. The evening was lovely and dry making it ideal running conditions. We had 14 club members take part.

First back for the club, in 2nd place was Albert Maher in a very fast time of 17.28 and winning the 1st junior boy category 🎉

U11 & U12 MUNSTER COMBINED EVENTS TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026.

The U11 & U12 Munster Combined Events Track & Field Championships were held in MTU in Cork on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June, 2026.
The girls competed on the Saturday and the boys on Sunday.

We had one U12 Juvenile athlete travel to Cork on Saturday 6th to take part. The early morning rain had cleared up and it was a dry but windy day.

Huge congratulations and well done to Fiadh Ryan, who had a super day to place 10th overall in a field of 46 girls, competing in the 60m sprint, high jump, shotput, long jump & 600m. She also set new pb's in the high jump, shotput, long jump & 600m and really enjoyed the day out.
As her first day in competing in an event like this it was a great achievement and experience for her. 👏🏻🎉

We had no boys from the club take part in Sundays event.

U13 & U14 MUNSTER TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026.

The Munster Track and Field championships for U13 and U14 athletes was held in Templemore on bank holiday Monday the 1st of June. It was a day of sunshine and heavy showers and we had three athletes taking part. Shona Ryan competing in the U13 age group had a busy day competing in the Long Jump, Hurdles and 600m. In the U14 age group Ellen Maher gave another strong performance in the 800m running 2:37 and also competed in the Long Jump. Julie Morrissey, also competing in three events, had a good day setting PB's in Long Jump with 4:35where she finished 6th overall and in the High jump jumping 2:30 for the first time. She also competed in the Hurdles. Well done to all three girls on super performances and the new pb's.
The Munster U15 to U19 championships will be held in Cork on the 13th and 14th of June and we hope to have a few participants in that.

ANALOG DEVICES CORK CITY MARATHON 2026.

The annual Analog Devices Cork City Marathon was held in Cork City on Sunday 31st May. There was over 12,300 taking part over three different distances, marathon, half marathon & 10k.

This years event was dedicated to the memory of Ellen Cassidy, who tragically passed away following last years race. There were 24 balloons released in her honour at the start line, symbolising her age. The male and female winners of the half marathon were presented with the Ellen Cassidy perpetual cup and the finisher medal design also pays tribute to Ellen.

We had one club member take part over the 21k half marathon distance, super running from Pat Hayes who finished in a great time of 2.28. Well done Pat 👏🏻

HORSE & JOCKEY 6KM RUN & WALK 2026.

The Horse & Jockey 6KM Run & walk was held on Sunday 31st May, 2026. It was in aid of Horse & Jockey tidy villages. It was a lovely sunny morning for running.
Super congratulations and well done to club member Wayne Bargary, who won the race in a brilliant time of 21.50 🏃🥇🎉🙌🏻

Coillte Summer/Autumn Trail League, IMRA Munster 2026

Tountinna
On Sunday 31st May the 3rd race in this series was held in Ballina Co. Tipperary overlooking Lough Derg.
In the junior race 2 club athletes were in action.

Katelyn Shanahan ran a commanding race to win the 4.2km trail race overall with Isobel Hartnett in 2nd.

In the Senior 10k Barry Hartnett, who was in action again and took 1st place overall also. Huge congratulations to all. Outstanding performances from these 3 Dundrum athletes, who are loving the summer on the hills 💪🏻👏🏻🎉

NIMRA SLIEVE DONARD

The Irish mountain running championships kicked off on Saturday in the Mournes Mountains in Co.Down with the Slieve Donard race. The race celebrating its 82nd year of running is Ireland oldest and most prestigious hill race attracting a high class field from all over Ireland and beyond.
The race starting from the seafront in Newcastle goes straight to the top of Donard (2800ft) and back down over 6 miles of wild open mountain. Huge congratulations to Club Senior Barry Hartnett who finished 3rd overall and first M40 👏🏻🎉
The next race in the national championship is Mweelrea in Mayo on June 13th.
