🔹 𝟮𝟰𝗵𝗿 𝟱𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆

We were delighted to hand over the funds raised from our 𝟮𝟰𝗵𝗿 𝟱𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆; which took place from Friday 3pm to Saturday 3pm last weekend; to two community groups Lusk Tidy Towns and Lusk Cleaning Group.

𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 & 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝟯

Well done to the teams competing this week in Lucan Harriers, for the final two days of the Dublin Juvenile Championships.
Congratulations to everyone who gave it their all.

League 3 of the Dublin Athletics competition took place at the fantastic DSD venue, beneath the Dublin Mountains and providing a superb setting for a day of athletics. Our Lusk athletes were outstanding throughout the event, with excellent performances from Grace, Kaelyn, Annie, Fletcher, Alannah, Matthew, Elliot, Michael, Sam and Emilia. A special congratulations to Annie, who secured a silver medal in the U10 Turbo Javelin.
Thank you to all the parents for their invaluable support, helping with warm-ups, accompanying athletes to their starts, and providing encouragement throughout the competitions. Your support plays a huge part in making these events such a positive experience for our young athletes.

Thank you to Dublin Athletics for a great end to the Dublin Juvenile Championships and to our club members who have officiated and volunteered at them. Enjoy your break!

Well done to Pole Vaulters, Sarah Rigney, Ava Lewis and Nessa O'Donoghue who competed in the Leinster Championships on Saturday in Tullamore. Every competition is a learning opportunity for our athletes.

🔹𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐩 - 𝐰.𝐞.𝟏𝟒/𝟎𝟔/𝟐𝟔🔹

Many of our club members took part in the 24 hour relay on Friday or Saturday but there were still quite a few in action across a range of events.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧
Congratulations to Peter Doyle who completed the iconic Comrades Ultra Marathon today. Comrades is the oldest and largest ultra. It was the 99th running of the event and there were over 21,000 at the start line at around 5am local time. The route goes from Durban to Pietermaritzburg with the start alternating between the two each year. It should come as no surprise that Peter chose to run it in a year with the Durban start which includes a net 750 metres of climb within the 85kms. Peter finished in a time of 10 hours 2 minutes to tick another one off the bucket list.

𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟓
Well done to Emma Przymusinska who competed at the Graded meeting on Saturday at DSD. Emma finished the 800m in 2:42:64. The next Graded meeting is at Morton Stadium on 24th June.

𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 - 𝐓𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞

𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧
Lusk had two athletes at the Glenmore Running Festival on Saturday. Well done to Elizabeth O'Reilly (1:50:57) and Isabelle Hermann (2:06:10) who completed the Half Marathon on a course that takes runners through the breathtaking Glenmore Valley nestled in the heart of the Cooley Peninsula.

𝐆𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭
Well done to Gavin Gleeson who completed this multi event 68km course in 4 hours 23 minutes. Gavin clearly excelled in running, cycling and kayaking on Saturday.

𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐫𝐮𝐧
Over 30 athletes from the club participated in a parkrun in no fewer than 9 different venues on Saturday.

Sam Mulhare (18:17) had a 2nd place finish at Broadmeadow Linear and Maria Ferguson (21:53) was 2nd female at Poppintree. Mark Dunne (20:37) had a top 10 finish at Donabate where there were PBs for Jake Fanning (28:03), Susan Fanning (28:12) and Muireann Nulty (35:25).

4 club members went further afield. Matt Bush visited Great Lines, Medway in Kent, Aoife Langley travelled to Dulwich in London where there were 798 finishers but it was Siobhan and Peter Doyle who got the extra air miles with a trip to Umhlanga, South Africa. There were 789 finishers on the sea front route where Peter stretched his legs in advance of his slightly longer run on Sunday.

There were also Lusk members at Ardgillan, Malahide and Father Collins.

🙌 We did it!!! 24hr 5k relay 🙌

Starting at 3pm yesterday over 100 athletes turned up and ran 5k starting and finishing in Lusk’s sports Hub on Rathmore Road. Well done to everyone who ran, particularly those night and early morning runners, organisers and everyone who donated.
