💚🌍 FROM CHICAGO TO CROATIA... RATHFARNHAM WAS EVERYWHERE THIS WEEK! 🌍💚
Some people spend their holidays relaxing. Our members seem to prefer racing marathons in the heat, scrambling over jagged rocks, and winning World Championship gold medals! 😅
🏆 Massive congratulations to Tom Cuddy, Gerry Boyle and Martin Kelly, who struck gold for Ireland at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Zagreb, winning Team Gold in the M65 category. Three Rathfarnham athletes, representing both club and country, standing on top of the world. An incredible achievement and proof that age really is just a number. 🇮🇪🥇
🌞 Across the Atlantic in Chicago, Micheal Murphy and Marc Fitzachary tackled marathon conditions that were more sauna than race day! Micheal ran a superb 3:03 and Marc a brilliant 2:50. Not PBs, but outstanding performances in challenging conditions. 🇺🇸🏃
⛰️ Before all of that, a brave band headed to Zadar for the Archipelago 25k Trail Run. Reports suggest the course featured every rock in Croatia, plus a few extra ones thrown in for good measure. Jagged terrain, rocky shorelines, hands-on-knees climbing, and enough twists and turns to keep everyone honest!
👏 Well done to Clare Shiels, Lian Brady, Maria Brennan, Noreen Fitzsimons, Esther Lawlor and Mick Stuart, along with friends from DSD and Brothers Pearse, Avril, Gill and Padraig, who took on the adventure.
Whether it was world championship gold, the streets of Chicago, or the rocky trails of Croatia, our athletes continue to show that the club spirit travels well. 💚

🌟 Dublin Cross Country Leagues
Sunday also marked the opening round of the Dublin Cross Country Leagues in Donabate, with Rathfarnham's juvenile athletes making their first cross-country appearances of the season.
It was great to see such a large turnout of young athletes proudly representing the club. From the youngest competitors to the older juveniles, there was excellent effort, determination and enthusiasm on display throughout the day. Cross-country racing provides an important foundation for athletic development, and this first outing was a valuable opportunity to gain experience while enjoying the team atmosphere that makes these league events so special.
The commitment shown by athletes, coaches and parents alike made for a very positive start to the cross-country season, and we look forward to seeing the squad continue to develop over the coming weeks.
👏 A Special Thank You to Our Volunteers
A huge thank you goes to all the Rathfarnham volunteers who assisted at the Dublin Juvenile Cross Country Leagues in Donabate. These events simply could not happen without the support of volunteers who give up their time to help with course set-up, stewarding, officiating and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Volunteer support is an essential part of our sport and, as a club, our ability to participate in these competitions depends on members stepping forward to help. Your contribution allows our young athletes to race, develop and enjoy the cross-country season, and it is deeply appreciated by athletes, coaches, parents and the club as a whole.
Congratulations to everyone who raced and represented Rathfarnham so brilliantly this weekend. From podium finishes on the roads to the first outing of the season for our juvenile cross-country squad, it was a weekend that showcased the strength, depth and community spirit that makes Rathfarnham such a special club.
