Gecko Adventures is a thriving outdoor education and adventure centre based in Courtmacsherry, West Cork. We are privileged to be situated along one of Ireland’s most beautiful coastlines which is also a prime location for windsurfing and kitesurfing. We are dedicated to connecting young people and adults to the water and the outdoors while developing new skills and for many, a lifelong passion for watersports.
We run:
- Kids multiactivity summer camps
- Coastal kayak tours
- Academy (our teenage instructor developer program, running year round)
- Adult and teenage training courses in:
- kayaking (level 1-3)
- windsurfing
- sailing
- kitesurfing
- surfing
- SUPing
- powerboating
- Rentals
- School Tours
We are looking for highly motivated, reliable, and energetic instructors who are passionate about the outdoors and developing their skill set both as instructors and in their personal proficiency in the sports themselves.
Applicants should be flexible, self motivated and hard working, with strong leadership qualities and an ability to make decisions under pressure. A passion for teaching outdoor sports and working with young people and adults is a must.
Required:
- First aid certificate
- Child protection
- Canoeing Ireland level 1/2 kayak instructor award and/or Irish Sailing Windsurf instructor award
Desirable
- SUP instructor
- Surf instructor
Instructor positions are for the 2026 season but we are looking for dedicated leaders to join our long term team
