Tonight saw the last shift for our Gym Manager Luke Carey Murphy 😢

Luke brought a lot of fun and energy to the complex and ran a solid list of programmes during his time with us.

Recently he delivered our first Personal Training Professional Course. With everyone on the course having an amazing experience under his guidance.

He is leaving the fitness industry completely, and will be big shoes to fill. But the next chapter will open new directions for us and for Luke.

We all wish him the very best of luck 🍀

And a big thanks 👏

🏅 MAYFIELD TEEN SPORTS AWARDS – NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! 🏅

We want to recognise and celebrate the young people from Mayfield who have gone out and achieved something special in sport.

The Mayfield Teen Sports Awards are open to both individual athletes and teams who are in secondary school, or were in secondary school during the season in which their success was achieved.

To qualify, nominees must be a member of a Mayfield club and/or live in Mayfield, and must have achieved genuine success at county, national or international level. This award is for young people who have actually won a major event or title, rather than simply being selected for or placing as part of a team.

All nominations must come from the young person’s coach or instructor.

🥇 EVERYONE WHO QUALIFIES WILL RECEIVE A GOLD MAYFIELD TEEN SPORTS AWARDS MEDAL AND A FULL YEAR’S FREE MEMBERSHIP TO MAYFIELD SPORTS COMPLEX.

One teen will be chosen as the most outstanding achievement award 🏆

Coaches can send nominations to Paul O’Leary at [email protected], giving the athlete’s name, age, club, sport and details of the achievement.

We certainly do... 🏊‍♂️

"A recent report by Swim Ireland found that each pool in Ireland equates to 80,000 people, whereas in Scotland each pool equates to just 14,000 people," writes John Dolan.

"Large swathes of counties such as Cork have no access to a pool, and if a child misses that window of opportunity at a young age to learn how to swim, it is often hard to catch up in later life."

We kicked off the 4 weeks self defence course this last Wednesday. But its on the next 3 Wednesdays also.

Contact Yvonne Quilligan from Cork City Partnership through the details in the poster for a spot on the course.

Next Wednesdays class is knife defence 🔪

Class after that will be abduction and grab defence 🖐

The last week I'll be looking for some men to donate themselves as crash test dummies 🤪
