CYCLE RAISES VITAL FUNDS FOR COMFORT FOR CHEMO

The Three Peaks Cycling Challenge on June 6th was an incredible day. We were blessed with dry weather from mid-morning, allowing the stunning beauty of Caragh Lake, Glencar, and Bealach Beama to truly shine. The new routes proved to be a welcome challenge, and we were absolutely thrilled to welcome a record number of cyclists this year.

Comfort for Chemo Kerry and Killarney Cycling Club would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in and supported the event.

We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful sponsors, and to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success. A special thank you goes to the volunteers from both Comfort for Chemo and Killarney Cycling Club, who generously gave up their time to ensure all our cyclists were fed, watered, and looked after from start to finish.

Finally, we want to wish everyone participating in the Ring of Kerry Cycle the very best of luck on Saturday, July 4th.

The awful news came in yesterday that Shane O Brien sadly lost his life in a tragic accident on the road while out training. An extremely talented and popular young man who was no doubt destined for a wonderful career like his brother Liam who rides for Lidl-Trek.

We had the pleasure of providing Shane with a spare bike from our car at Ràs Mumhan this year. There was no cursing, no shouting just a nonchalant “ Yeah il take a bike if you have one” 🥲
Rest in peace Shane. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the whole cycling community who are in shock.

A massive shout-out to Kevin and Patricia Ennis from Centra Muckross Road for their incredible generosity!

We are absolutely thrilled to receive a donation toward this Saturday’s Three Peaks Cycle (June 6th), and this year’s charity Comfort for Chemo Kerry.
