Huge congratulations to the almost 70 juveniles who took to the course today for Lady Captain Patricia’s Competition! It was fantastic to see such talent and enthusiasm on display, with some truly outstanding scoring across all age groups.
A giant round of applause to the winners across each of our competitions-

Head Green Keeper Announcement

Dear Committee Members,
The Board of Directors is delighted to announce the formal appointment of Thomas Barnes as the new Head Greenkeeper of Concra Wood.
Thomas is a highly respected industry professional with 37 years of experience in golf course maintenance and management. He brings a wealth of expertise, leadership, and technical knowledge to this vital role within our club.
Thomas has a proven track record of managing premier golf destinations both in Ireland and internationally:
• Druids Glen Golf Club (Co. Wicklow): Oversaw construction, grow-in, and hosting of the Irish Open in the mid 1990’s.
• Nuremore Golf & Country Club (Co. Monaghan): Spent 10 successful years as Head Greenkeeper.
• Edenderry Golf Club (Co. Offaly): Served as Head Greenkeeper for nine years.
• Rayhan Hills Golf Club (Pakistan): Managed the grow-in phase of a sustainable 36-hole development using climate-specific turfgrass.
• Castle Dargan Golf Resort (Co. Sligo): Served as Head Greenkeeper prior to joining Concra Wood.

Originally from Malahide, Thomas is widely known for his meticulous attention to detail and strong leadership. His extensive experience in course preparation, turf management, machinery operations, long term course planning, together with his deep understanding of modern agronomy methods ensures Concra Wood will successfully navigate changing climates and evolving EU regulations.
We are incredibly excited to welcome Thomas to the team and wish him the very best as he leads our course maintenance into a fantastic new era. Thomas commences his employment on Monday 27th July

🏌️‍♀️ What an incredible performance from Donna Adams last week.
Donna produced an unbelievable score of 49 points in the recent Ladies' Competition!!!
Scoring 49 points is no easy feat and is a testament to Donna's excellent golf.
Anne Cumiskey was in second place with an outstanding score of 39 while Anne Lambe followed closely behind with 38 points, another super score.
In the 9 hole competition Michelle Daly took the top spot with 19 points.
