🏉 Iveragh Eagles Fun Day 2026 🏉

What a great day we had at the Iveragh Eagles Fun Day! After a wet start, the weather thankfully turned out grand and we had a brilliant day of fun, games, plenty of laughs and, of course, Soak the Coach! 💦😂

A very special part of the day was celebrating Tony Cournane and his retirement from coaching after an incredible 17 years with Iveragh Eagles. Tony has given so much of his time, energy and knowledge to the club and has played a huge part in helping generations of young players along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a success, and to all our coaches, volunteers, committee members, players and families for everything you do for the club.

We’re looking forward to the new season ahead! 🙌

New players are always welcome, so if you’d like to give rugby a go, come along and join us.

We’re delighted to welcome all new and returning players for the Iveragh Eagles RFC Minis 2026–2027 season.

📅 Starting Saturday, September 5th
⏰ 11am–12pm
📍 Over the Water

Our Minis groups are:
🏉 U8s – Born 2019–2020
🏉 U10s – Born 2017–2018
🏉 U12s – Born 2015–2016

Whether your child is a returning player or has never tried rugby before, come down and give it a go! 💪

In the comparatively short lifetime of our club, there has been one ever-present. As you all well know, that constant is Tony Cournane. As a club, we're struggling to admit to ourselves that Tony has decided, after 17 years of devotion to the Eagles cause, that it's probably time he reclaimed some of that time for himself and his family, who, of course, are on their own spectacular rugby journeys.
A founder of the club, we can't thank him enough for his contribution as a player, coach of minis/youth/schools, CCRO Officer, Every Other Officer, Munster Rep, Chairman, President, Groundsman, Schools Liaison, Bus Driver, Referee, Sponge Target, Taxi Man and countless other roles too numerous to mention. Likewise, for his achievements, we'd need a day to go through them all, so that's exactly what we are going to do. We'd like to invite you to join us at our Fun Day on Sunday, 6th September, where we will celebrate The Man & Clan Cournane.

Fantastic Blitz today Iveragh Eagles RFC . 35 5th and 6th class girls from 6 local schools. Fantastic rugby played with some great tries scored. Thanks to Ken Imbusch , Munster Women‘s officer and Brian O’Dowd County Development Officer for travelling down to us.
