I initially started Pilates as a student in the 1990’s. I found that it helped me manage my work and leisure activities better – it reduced my stress levels at work, and made my body stronger to allow me to enjoy my running, cycling and swimming hobbies. In 2014 I started training to become a Pilates instructor. In 2015 I gained an Advanced Diploma in Pilates Matwork at the National Training Centr

e, Dublin. Since then I have been teaching Pilates in the South Donegal area. I believe that Pilates is a great form of exercise for all ages to help strengthen, lengthen and tone the body and is also an invaluable tool to assist during rehabilitation.

“Pilates is just for girls…”
That is what one of our newer clients thought when he started classes 6 weeks ago.
Yesterday he told me his golf is now the best it has been in years - and that he is very glad he stuck with it.
At Pilates Donegal we have people of all ages and abilities coming to classes each week - people wanting to move better, feel stronger, improve flexibility, work on balance, or simply do something positive for themselves.

Most people are surprised by how supported the reformer actually feels.
Classes are adapted to suit different ages and fitness levels.

• Wed 7.10pm – Mat
• Fri 11.10am – Reformer

As you get stronger and more confident, there are lots more morning and evening classes to progress into.

Had a lovely moment with a new Reformer client this month.
Old injury. Lots of bracing. Very limited movement.
Suggested she also see a physio alongside Pilates.
The difference afterwards was remarkable - more range, less guarding, more trust in her body.
Excited to see where she is in 6 weeks.
