On a stormy day in dunlewy Erne started fast and took the lead after great work from damo Webber sent John roper jr clear on the right and his cross found Adam Mcglone free at the back and he drove the ball to the net from 8 yards out.John roper added a second but the ref blew for offside , Dunlewy with the wind at their backs rallied and after 35 mins equalized after a long ball into the box was headed home to leave the score 1-1 at halftime.
Start of the second half and great work from Philip Patton and Adam seen Adam thru 1v1 with the keeper and he duly scored to put Erne 2-1 up.Soon after John jr made it 3-1 when he scored direct from a corner kick. Slack defending seen dunlewy scored their second but Adam Mcglone secured his hattrick after his corner kick was headed back out to him and he curled in a beauty to the top corner to leave it 4-2. Dunlewy came back again and got their third after a penalty kick was awarded. The goal of the day arrived from the boot of mardy McGarrigle when he drove a beauty of a shot from the corner of the box to leave the keeper with no chance. Number 6 arrived when great work from Dylan Gallagher seen his shot hit the post only to rebound to Adam to get his fourth of the day. Dunlewy scored a consolation in the last minute to leave the final score 6-4 to wanderers.Lads next game is home to cappry rovers next Saturday at 1 at the lakeside

With the dust settled after last nights game the wanderers committee, coaches and players would like to thank Paul and Magaret for looking after the team all tournament, magaret looked after the boys with a clean kit every game and Paul was a great help unblocking the toilet for Ryan mc Kenna and Dylan Gallagher on at least 3 occasions,nerves must have got the better of the boys.All the best to Dunkineely Celtic F.C.and donegal town in their respective leagues this year

Wanderers first appearance in the final of the Seamus mccallig cup ended in victory against a well drilled donegal town Sunday team.A cold,wet wintery evening wanderers started fast out of the blocks.Town keeper cathal charlton who made some outstanding saves throughout the whole game could do nothing with a bullet Jakub naperski header after a pin point delivery from josh Ritchie after 20 mins.Erne had some great chances to make it 2 before Adam McGlone broke through 1 on 1 with charlton before lobbing him and putting the wanderers 2 up after 30 mins.Ronan mc Hugh caused Erne problems all night but the Centre back pairing of Dylan Gallagher and Ryan mc Kenna duly dealt with everything fired at them.Just before halftime Erne were caught with a sucker punch,McHugh had a shot well saved by Shaun o Boyle but the follow up was tapped in by mark Jordan.Half time 2-1. If Erne dominated the first half donegal town definitely dominated the second.David graham was twice denied a certain goal only for the brilliance of o Boyle.With Erne pinned in there own half for most of the second half they were relying on quick breaks, they had 2/3 chances to kill the game off through philip Patton,jakub and John roper jr but again charlton was not to be beaten.Sub David dorrian came in and steadied the ship along with Dan warnock and jc o connor who played there part.Special mention to gearoid Gallagher,Philip Patton and baz mull who had a great battle with the town midfield but motm tonight definitely went to Shaun o Boyle who made some massive saves when the game was in the balance.Wanderers have a 2 week break now before the first league match on the 2sept against Lagan harps.

The lads played their last group game against a young Dunkineely Celtic F.C. in the Seamus mccallig cup tonight.A quick one two between jakub and Spuddy left Spuddy one on one with the keeper and he duly dinked it over the outrushing keeper.Five mins before halftime jakub raced behind the dunkinelly defense and beat the keeper to the ball to make it 2 nil at halftime.Second half started with wanderers dominating the ball and baz mull made it 3 when he lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box.Jakub soon added his second with a neat finish before Corey Simms added a fifth to leave the boys qualifying for the final next Monday against donegal town.Ryan McKenna and jack Mcsharry were solid down the 2 flanks while ceallach Mitchell had a great game at CDM but motm was Adam mcglone who caused havoc all night on the left wing

This last man standing fundraiser kick started tonight (𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑢𝑛) with the first of the fixtures Man City vs Burnley.

Nobody fell off the horse just yet and everyone still in but a big day of fixtures ahead tomorrow...

Biggest divider of the weekend will be Brighton v Luton which could see at least 20 of you go out in the first week!

Wanderers played their second game tonight in the Seamus mc callig cup against a strong donegal town side.Jakub naperski put the men from ballyshannon 1 up after charging down the town keeper cathal charlton, shortly after Adam McGlone added a second with a nice finish after good work from Philip patton and baz mulligan.Donegal came flying out of the traps second half and Oisin gorell scores with a header back post.With 15 mins left town veteran David graham equalized.Both teams had chances to win it with Adam having a great chance to win it,all in all a draw match was a fair result. Dylan Gallagher and Aaron Cullen were outstanding at the back but motm has to go to big gearoid Gallagher.Wanderers play young boys of sound in the annual Alan Gallagher/Niall Anderson shield tomorrow night at the lakeside,k.o 7:45 for anyone whose about.

Wanderers first competitive game in 5 years ended with a win against st Catherine’s this evening in the Seamus mccallig cup in dunkinelly.Scoreline definitely flattered the lads but a great performance for the teams first outing.Jakub naperski hattrick along with a goal each for Adam mcglone, Mardy Mcgarrigle Jnr and geraroid Gallagher ending up in a 6-0 win.
