🥊🇮🇪🏆 WHAT A HOMECOMING FOR DOUBLE EUROPEAN CHAMPION PA CASEY! 🥇🥇
What an unbelievable night in Killarney as family, friends and supporters turned out to welcome Pa Casey home after becoming a 2X EUROPEAN CHAMPION at the U15 European Championships in Trabzon, Turkey, last week.
The turnout was absolutely outstanding, and to see so many people come from near and far to show their support for Pa was something else. To every single person who made the effort to be there, a massive THANK YOU! It meant a lot to Pa and to all of us as a family.
First and foremost, we want to give a massive shout-out to Pam, Séamus, Nicola, Denny, Tim and the entire crew at Kerry Community Youth Service - KCYS Killarney for organising and hosting such a brilliant homecoming.
You guys pulled out all the stops and went above and beyond to make sure Pa got a welcome home worthy of his achievements. The work, effort and attention to detail that went into the evening were second to none. We couldn’t have asked for better, and we have huge respect and appreciation for every one of you. Absolute legends! 👏
A big thank you to the Mayor of Killarney, Cllr John O’Donoghue, and Niall ‘Botty’ O’Callaghan for taking the time to come along and welcome Pa home. Having you both there to recognise his achievements was a great gesture and one that we genuinely appreciate. 👏
We also want to give a special mention to the Kerry County Boxing Board for making the effort to attend and celebrate Pa’s success. It’s great to have that support from within the boxing community, and we really appreciate you taking the time to be there. Massive respect and thanks to you all! 🥊
We want to extend a massive thank you to Boxing Ireland for giving Pa the opportunities to represent his country on the international stage. 🇮🇪🥊
There’s no greater honour for a young boxer than pulling on the Irish vest and stepping into the ring to represent his/her country. These are the opportunities that young athletes work towards, and we are extremely grateful that Pa has been given the chance to compete against the best in Europe and proudly fly the Irish flag.
A huge thank you also to all the Irish coaches, team managers and everyone involved with the Irish squad.
You all play a massive part in helping these young boxers achieve their dreams, and we have nothing but respect and appreciation for everything you do. 👊🇮🇪
A huge shout-out to Bobby Enright of Peak Performance Killarney, the Casey Brothers’ strength and conditioning coach, who also stepped up as MC for the evening and did a cracking job! 🎤
Bobby has been working with the lads for the past few years, and he’s become a lot more than just their S&C coach. He’s someone they have massive respect for, a mentor they genuinely look up to, and someone who’s become like family to them.
He’s been a big part of their development, not just as athletes but as young men. Having good people around you who push you, guide you and want to see you succeed makes all the difference. Bobby, you’re a top man, and we appreciate everything you do for the boys. 💪🥊
Another massive thank you to Pádraig Healy Wedding Photography for coming along and capturing the evening.
This man is seriously talented at what he does. A true professional, a sound fella and someone who knows exactly how to capture the moments that matter. We’re delighted to have those memories to look back on for years to come. Paudie, you’re a gentleman and an absolute master of your craft. Thanks a million! 📸👏
And we certainly couldn’t leave out Joe Burke!
What can we say about Joe? The man never ceases to amaze us. Always willing to help, always there when needed and never looking for anything in return. A great character, a great personality and one of those fellas you just have to love. Joe, you’re one of a kind, and we have nothing but respect for you. Thanks for everything, buddy! 👊
Last but not least, We want to give a very special thank you to Pa’s sponsors, Francis Cummins and Dermot McGuckin, for their incredible generosity and continued support towards Pa’s development as a young boxer. 🥊🤝
Competing at this level takes a huge amount of commitment, dedication and sacrifice, and having good people willing to get behind a young athlete and invest in their future makes a massive difference.
Your support has helped Pa continue to develop, chase his goals and take on opportunities at the highest level of amateur boxing. It’s about much more than financial backing; it’s about having people who believe in a young lad’s potential and are willing to help him make the most of it.
The whole evening was first class from start to finish. The atmosphere, the turnout, the effort everyone put in and the genuine support shown to Pa was absolutely incredible.
And the best part of it all was seeing how much it meant to Pa himself.
Anyone involved in boxing knows the sacrifices that go into reaching this level. The early mornings, the hard training sessions, the discipline, the setbacks and the countless hours of work when nobody is watching.
To come home with TWO EUROPEAN GOLD MEDALS is a massive achievement, but to then see family, friends and supporters turn out to recognise that hard work is something very special.
Pa was absolutely blown away by the support, and as a family and club, we couldn’t be prouder or more grateful.
To everyone who played a part in making the night happen, to everyone who has supported Pa on his boxing journey, and to everyone who came along to welcome him home, we can’t thank you enough.
Two European titles. Two gold medals. One unforgettable homecoming. 🥇🥇
Hard work earns the medals. Great people make the memories. 👊🇮🇪
