Open Water Swimming Community

Open Water Swimming Community I have created an open water swimming community with Let's Talk Stansted I live in Stansted, Essex and I started open water swimming in August 2020.

I first started swimming at the age of 4 and joined Bishops Stortford Swimming Club at the age of 8, swimming competitively until my early teens. My vision is to support our local community to ensure all our swimmers feel safe, meet new people and enjoy the physical & mental health benefits from open water swimming. I am a:

• Swimming Teacher Association (STA) open water coach
• Royal Life Saving Society (RSSL) open water lifeguard
• Mental Health First Aider & Instructor (MHFA). Qualified to train level 1 & level 2 Mental Health First Aid

🌊 40th Stansted Community Swim Group Celebration! 🌊

What an incredible milestone!

Our 40th Open Water Community Group swim today!

The water this morning was a crisp 12°C, calm and like glass, creating the perfect conditions for an unforgettable dip.

A huge thank-you to ! For their continued support and partnership, this community group activity wouldn’t be what it is without them. 💙

And an equally big thank-you to our beautiful venue, and to all the welcoming, warm and caring swimmers who make every session so special.

Cannot believe our first group community swim was on the 30th June 2022 so this will be our 3rd year and looking forward to our coming Winter swim season.

I’m incredibly proud to have set up this community swimming group up and to see how it’s grown into such a supportive, space. I have not actively promoted and advertised as we have a small group which makes our swims so much more inclusive, safe and enjoyable. All my swimmers have made this what it is and without them we would not be in our 3rd year and I am hugely grateful, so a huge thank you.

It’s a privilege to observe how open water swimming brings people together, boosting wellbeing, lifting mood, and helping us all reconnect with nature and ourselves.

Here’s to many more swims and shared moments ahead! 🌊

What an incredible milestone!

Our 40th Open Water Community Group swim today!
