🏆Amazing 2nd place for Sebastian during the Freestyle Femharn Surffestival!
How was the event? 🫵
- The Surffestival is always very special for me personally, because the entire windsurfing community across Germany comes together. All my best friends from watersports are there, and it’s a great event to get on the water, party, and of course, for the German Freestyle Battle, which is the main competition. The German Freestyle Battle is the German championship in freestyle. Due to very inconsistent wind conditions, the contest couldn't be run. But on Saturday evening, we had a show. Originally, a tow-in show with a jet ski was planned, but because it was too windy, we decided to have a race: we finalists started together, did a trick outside, rounded a buoy, returned for another move, and whoever got to the beach first won. I came third and fourth in those races. At the end, we had a 10-minute heat where the best move counted. On my first run out, I did a no-handed burner, which was scored highly as it’s a difficult move. In the end, the two races were scored separately, and the best move was scored double. That’s how I ended up second behind Lennart Neubauer. I’m super happy with the result—just the perfect end to a great surf festival. Also, it’s a special honor to windsurf in front of so many people, right by the beach. It’s an incredible feeling to showcase the sport to such a crowd, and the atmosphere was amazing. It was the perfect highlight to cap off the entire Surffestival.
What Tabou boards did you use? 🏄
- I used the 2026 Tabou Twister with 93 liters, as always. The move that secured me second place was the no-handed burner—you’ll see that in some of the photos I’ll be sending. I also used the GA 4.8 Pure sail for the final competition / show.
What’s your next objective? ⏳
- The weekend after the Surffestival is the Foil Festival, and the next major windsurfing competition is definitely the PWA World Cup in Fuerteventura, which I’ll be preparing for in the coming weeks.
