I’ve scammed over 100 women this year alone 👊🏼

And I’m sorry.

You see, I’ve already coached over 100 women this year in one way or another. Women going through menopause, women who have had their lives overrun by their career, women who have families to lead or who just want to grow and epic set of glutes.

But there’s a huge secret I’ve been hiding.

I can’t relate to you.

I’m 6ft 2. I love training arms. I don’t have kids. I don’t have a womb. I really just like smoking meat in a vest on my balcony and drinking snobby coffees.

So I want to say sorry. The internet will tell you that as a coach, I need to be relatable. I need to cry on camera about the same problems you face. I need to have the same lived experience you have. Or I need to like the same things.

But I can’t, haven’t don’t and won’t.

It’s very unlikely that I’ll ever go through menopause, grow a child inside me or have a period.

So why do so many women fall for my scam?

Well, what if being a good coach was nothing to do with being the same as you?

What if being a good coach was about having empathy for everyone whilst holding them to a required standard no matter who they are?

What if being a good coach was spending 17 years studying from and collaborating with industry experts in female health to implement that with you?

What if being a great coach was taking the experiences felt by thousands of women, to refine the right strategy for you?

What if… and hear me out here… Being an epic coach was nothing to do with being like you?

I’ve seen way too many women failed by coaches they put their trust in just because they were “like them”.

I’ll never be like you. But I will go further than anyone else to find the solution for you.

One of my proudest moments… Meet Julie ✨

Julie is 56. When she came to me in December she had been living on as little as 800 calories a day and running as much as she physically could to burn them off. And like most women I speak to, we are talking about 20+ years of dieting, not once fuelled enough to grow and build muscle.

She’d actually been coached before. More than once. But had been scarred by poor coaching trying to force feed her calories. Because yeah, she needed to eat more, but she just felt overwhelmed by the whole build phase.

She was exhausted. Energy on the floor. And absolutely terrified of eating more and gaining body fat, it had happened before.

So we built it slowly. We mapped out the 12 month journey, we set realistic expectations and we did as much hand holding as Julie needed.

Nine months later she’s eating over 2,000 calories a day and look at the muscle growth.

I need to emphasise how hard it is for women to build muscle during this era of their life.

Minimal weight gained. Body fat clearly lower than when she was eating 800. Arm definition she has never had in her life.

And her back is chiselled compared to where she started.

This isn’t a six-week before-and-after with abs appearing out of nowhere. This is a real 56-year-old woman who stopped punishing herself and put her trust in building something with me. Nine months in. Still going.

If you’ve dieted for twenty years and never built anything that’s a problem that you won’t fix in 3 months.

You might want to DM the word “Julie” if you can relate, I might be able to help.

Here’s why you keep dieting but not maintaining…

Most women I work with have dieted successfully more than once. But they spend years going back and forth in a dieting loop, struggling to maintain or even build.

That’s why I’m so hard on pushing performance.

We replace the tangible feedback of weight loss with the tangible feedback of strength improvements.

You usually f**k it up because you can’t handle the idea of having no feedback or positive reinforcement from the scales.

So focus on getting that positive reinforcement from something else.

It’s starts MONDAY!

Just kidding, bet I got you though 😅

I’m just a little different in my approach.

I’d rather tell you the truth.
I’d rather tell you exactly what it’s going to take to achieve the result you want, including the timelines.

And If you need to churn out a few 8 week challenges to realise that won’t get you there, no harm done.

I also don’t need to sell you the 8 week dream to upsell you into the reality that you’ll need to stay for another 12 months for me to deliver on my promise.

But either way, most will eventually realise that the result they are looking for is in the long term solution.

I just wanted to be a f**king good coach.

When I walked through the doors of the local leisure centre at 16 years old. I remember looking up to the guys working there who were older than me and thinking… Wow. One day, I want to be as good as those guys.

At 19 I realised I could be a better coach if I left my home town. So, I walked through the doors of the gym owned by Mr Universe and I almost begged for a job.

At 21 I walked through the doors of a huge health club, full of 15 great, established coaches and within 3 years I was fitness manager and leading the team.

Then at 28 I looked at the impact some of the industry leaders were having and I knew that was the level of impact I could have if I put myself out there. So I took the leap.

And at 33, nothing has changed. The goalposts have never moved. It may be 17 years since I walked through the doors of The Grove Leisure Centre in Newark-on-Trent, but I’ve always had the same ambition.

Be the best f**king coach I can be. Everything else will follow.

That’s why in the last 2 years I’ve been to the US twice, Dubai twice, 4 different UK based seminars and just booked to go back to Dubai for another one.

I’m just the same 16 year old kid who had a fire lit in his belly at the idea of being a really f**king good coach. The only thing that changed is… I got closer to becoming one through the constant pursuit of education, learning and experience.

So if you want to know who I am as a coach?

I’m 17 years of experience, thousands of hours of education with the enthusiasm of a 16 year old learning his trade. And long may that continue.

I love this game 👊🏼🫡

How did she do it!? 😮‍💨

I think it’s easy to look at a transformation like Sophie’s and think… genetics or she’s lucky.

But I strongly disagree.

There are usually a few clues that someone’s going to achieve this level of transformation. When you’ve coached women for 17 years, you spot them a mile off!

1. They don’t rush. Sophie lost well over 10kg in this transformation. She went from 66kg to 54kg. Yet, most would look at the starting point and think they are “just a few weeks” away. Instead, Sophie locked in for the long run.

2. They repeat the simple things impeccably. There’s not a constant narrative around how they possibly fit alcohol and off plan meals in every week. They embrace the suck and understand achieving an outstanding result requires outstanding action, repeated.

3. They don’t lead decisions with emotion. They feel the emotion, but they don’t allow it to lead their decision making. Your emotions are always going to shift, if your nutrition and training behaviours go with it, you’re fighting an uphill battle.

Sophie’s transformation isn’t for everyone and that’s ok. But if it is something you’re chasing, setting expectations accordingly is extremely important.

You’re about to see 8 week transformations galore across your Instagram feed. Before you buy into the BS, consider whether you think a result like Sophie’s is achieved by doing 8 week transformations… or whether it’s a long term project.
