Pre-season training is back, and we’re looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new ones to the squad.

Whether you’ve played before or you’re completely new to rugby, we’d love to see you there!

For Mental Health Awareness Month, we asked some of our players what rugby means to them.

The answers weren’t about winning games or scoring tries.

They were about finding confidence, friendship, belonging, support, and a place to switch off from the pressures of everyday life.

For some, rugby helped them through difficult times. For others, it helped them reconnect with themselves after becoming parents, moving to a new area, or feeling isolated.

Every story is different, but one thing shines through: rugby is about so much more than sport.

If you’ve ever thought about giving rugby a try but felt nervous, unsure, or worried that you’re not fit enough, experienced enough, or “the rugby type” – many of these players felt exactly the same.

The hardest part is often taking that first step.

If you’re looking for a team, a community, and a place where you can be yourself, we’d love to welcome you.

Five years ago today, on May 7th 2021, Women’s Rugby returned to Wrexham Rugby Club💚❤️

“If you build it, they will come.”

What started with our girls hub, bringing a women’s team back to the club felt like the next natural step, creating a pathway so players no longer had to leave Wrexham to continue playing the game they love.

What followed has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. We’ve built a team, a community, and memories that will last a lifetime.

From first games to finals, tough losses to huge wins, every single player who has worn the shirt has helped shape this team into what it is today.

To celebrate our 5th anniversary — during Wrexham Rugby Club’s 100th year — makes this milestone even more special. Being part of the club’s history and helping write its future means everything to us.

Massive thank you to those involved in bringing girls and women’s rugby to Wrexham 👏🏼👏🏼
