Our u8s & u9s finished their season with a trip to Northop for what turned out being a fantastic morning of football for all involved.

U8s - sponsored by Pro Plumb WXM LTD & Enchanted hair and beauty

U8s - 4 tough games today which everyone of the girls gave 110%, they did not stop from start to finish playing some fantastic football, plenty of long & short passes. Got stuck in with some great tackles and they continued to communicate.

U9s

We struggled to get going in the first match and were punished by a strong Northop team leading to a heavy loss however towards the end of the game they started to get into it and this continued into the other 3 games. The girls communication and teamwork was brilliant, they played some lovely passes and worked the ball up the pitch well which led to some fantastic goals! The girls went on to win the remaining 3 games.

POTM

U8s

Rosie - Made a lot of brilliant saves in goal from diving to getting down to the ball with 1v1. She also showed a lot a bravery by taking quite a few windings but she took some deep breaths/shook it off and carried on.

Maddie - Made a lot of runs from attacking to defence, great footwork and did not rest till the match was over.

Nancy - Made the oppositions goalkeeper work with some great shots on goal and helped get the ball up field by finding herself space with long passes to her team mates.

Ella W - Put her new dribbling skills to the test with getting around the opposition, also tried out a Captain role by supporting her team and reminding them of what needs to be done.

U9s

Orlaith - 100% from start to finish and never stopped battling for the ball. Orlaith found her voice this morning and linked up well with her team, also got herself another goal to add to her tally.

Lilly - ran from start to finish and made some brilliant tackles and balls up the pitch. Set up a few goals and got 2 great goals for herself.

Ava - struggled with her confidence at the start of the day however she kept going and as the games went on she found her stride. Ava almost got herself on the scoresheet coming close many times after getting herself into great positions.

Ruby - For somebody who only recently started playing outfield ruby was superb this morning. Ruby was making some great tackles, passes, runs and communicating well and scored herself 5 brilliant goals!

Myself and Gaz would like to say well done to both teams on a brilliant season! And thank our parents for your continued support with the girls! πŸ‘

Last game of the season for the girls today, firstly I’d like to say how proud I am for us to come back from 2-0 down at half time to win the game, the character shown was unreal.

Today has proved we are in a false position in the league & shows we can go again and have a great season next season.

The fight & determination from the girls this morning was brilliant, sprinkled with moments of quality.

POTM: Ruby & Millie Carroll

Ruby - another good defensive display showing great character after the 1st goal. Put some great blocks & read the game well

Millie - constant pressure on the defenders today from Mill & im so pleased for her to get her 1st goal

OPOTM - Roxi

Another great game from Rox this morning constantly giving instruction to defenders & also putting off the strikers by shouting in polish at them πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Our U8s and U9s played a rearranged fixture against Brymbo this morning.
Both teams put in an amazing effort today and more than rose to the challenge of very physical games! Gaz and I both left extremely proud of each and every girl of how they played and conducted themselves.

U8s
2 very tough games against Brymbo in which they did not stop battling. They worked brilliantly as a team moving the ball around the pitch with plenty of runs and passes.

U9s
Results didnt go in our favour however with the performance the girls put in they were unlucky to not get the result to match.
From the very first minute to the last the girls were superb, the work rate 2nd to non.
Excellent tackles were put in all over the pitch and all of the girls worked tirelessly to get the ball up the pitch.
2 well took goals for lilly today ⚽️

Player of the match

Sophia u8s- The goalkeeper who made some fantastic saves, and put herself in front of the ball.

Ariah u8s - Got stuck in with defending, made some great tackles and clearances, also made some great long ball passes to her team mates up field

Orlaith u9s - ran her socks off during the first game, battled for every ball and could have scored a couple. Moved into goal for the 2nd game and made some brilliant saves showing real bravery.

Lilly u9s - worked from the first minute to the last putting in some big tackles and moving the ball up the pitch. Despite taking some bad knocks she didnt stop and was rewarded with 2 goals for her efforts.

The girls were disapointed with the results but from a coaches perspective we couldnt have been happier with what they showed us! One game to go 🟒βšͺ️🟒
