U10s

We welcomed Buckley Town to clywedog this morning and what a superb game it was!
Buckley caught us asleep early on with the opening goal but from that point on the game was on! Some fantastic physical battles across all areas of the pitch, great passing and link up plays from both teams as they tried to find the back of the net. Towards the end of the game we trailed 3-1 after a fantastically well worked goal from Orlaith for us. The girls began to put the pressure on Buckley and worked hard to close them down fast and win the ball back. We managed to get the game back to 3-2 but we just couldn't find the net! We had balls saved on the line, hit the post, balls just wide it just wouldn't happen for us but credit to Buckley they worked hard to keep us out!
Great standard of football on display 👏

POTM

Lilly - As always lilly worked her socks off from the first whistle to the last making vital tackles in defence and great runs and crosses into dangerous areas, almost got herself on the score sheet.

Orlaith - another player who never stops running! Superb performance today from Orlaith in midfield, got herself on the scoresheet again. Orlaith gave instructions to her team mates, helped when needed and encouraged when needed.. brilliant communication the last couple of weeks but really stood out today.

Alexis - good first 3rd in goal but when she came out of goal and into the Midfield for the rest of the game she shocked us all. Concentrated throughout, made vital tackles, kept the opponents under pressure and almost got herself on the scoresheet coming close numerous time.

Keep up the great work girls 👏👏

Every member of the squad played their part, working tirelessly for each other and playing some lovely football along the way. The hard work and effort the girls are putting into training is really starting to pay off, and it’s brilliant to see their confidence, teamwork and ability continuing to grow. A huge thank you to all the parents and supporters who helped out and braved the horrible weather conditions to cheer the girls on — your support is greatly appreciated! A great effort from every single girl — keep it up! 💪⚽👏

Second third, the girls were absolutely brilliant, a couple of great strikes from Nancy followed by a Martha goal which her hard work today deserved, never stops running and gives her all. Nancy then smashed home after the keeper made a great save from Brylee.

Sunny, but windy morning of football for our u11s at home this time to Mynydd Isa.

Quick start for the girls with Brylee and Nancy both finding the net with cool finishes. A third just before the end of the first third, Nancy running the length of the pitch beating numerous players and the goalkeeper before slotting home. Some goal Nance👏

Second third, like the first, started with two quick fire goals again from Brylee doubling her tally and Nancy completing her hat trick.

Last third was a shutout to seal another clean sheet (5 in 6 games) with both teams battling hard. Big well done to Isa who are improving all the time.

U10s

Our u10s were away to Brymbo Lodge this morning.
Great game of football from both sides 👏 Brymbo took the lead in the first 3rd but our girls never gave up. Some brilliant link up plays, some fantastic individual skill and great teamwork led to us scoring 2 and being only behind by 1, it was looking like we were ready to tie up the game but credit to macy in between the sticks for brymbo she kept us out. The girls got distracted at the end whilst we dealt with an injury and brymbo scored to seal the win.
Some passages of excellent play from our girls who are now beginning to adapt to the new format and superb work rate from all.
