🔴⚪ U11 GIRLS MATCH REPORT ⚪🔴

🔴⚫️ WHAT A GAME! ❤️

The first match of the season and the girls were raring to go! Both teams came out strong and ready for a battle from the very first whistle.

This season, every girl will get the opportunity to captain the team, and today it was Olive’s turn to wear the armband. She used her natural ability to keep the team positive and focused, showing fantastic awareness and a brilliant understanding of the game. 👏

After one final team talk from the coaches, the girls stepped onto the pitch ready to give everything.

From the first whistle, they looked organised, determined and ready to work. Robyn was outstanding between the sticks, pulling off some fantastic saves to keep the opposition at bay, while our defensive line worked tirelessly to close down attacks, make important clearances and protect our goal. 🧤❤️

Further up the pitch, the girls worked hard to win possession, link up with each other and move the ball forward. There were some fantastic passages of play and plenty of attacking pressure, but Mynydd Isa were equally determined and kept coming back at us.

It became a real end-to-end battle, with both teams fighting for every ball.

Unfortunately, Mynydd Isa managed to find a way through and sneak a goal to make it 1–0.

But did our girls let that knock their confidence?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! 💪🔥

They kept battling.
They kept pressing.
They kept fighting for each other.

Most importantly, there were no heads dropping and no giving up. They continued to work right until the final whistle.

And despite the 1–0 defeat, the girls walked off the pitch with HUGE smiles on their faces! You would have thought they had just won the cup! 🏆😂

The attitude these girls showed today was absolutely brilliant. They didn't allow the result to define their performance. Instead, they focused on the positives, celebrated each other's efforts and showed exactly what it means to play as a TEAM. ❤️

If they continue with this attitude, work rate and togetherness, that first win of the season won't be far away!

And when it does come…

We can only imagine the celebrations! 😂🏆❤️

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH — LILY

A very well-deserved Player of the Match award went to Lily today! 👏⚽️

Having never played football before and initially being nervous around the ball, watching her progression has been fantastic.

Today, Lily threw herself into tackles, chased down the ball, battled for possession and never gave up.

She listened, took on advice from the coaches and put it into practice on the pitch — and it really showed!

What a fantastic performance and what a brilliant journey you are already on.

Well done, Lily! Absolutely brilliant! 👏❤️⚽️

Our superstar goalkeeper Robyn was awarded Opposition Player of the Match! 👏🧤

What a performance.

Save after save, Robyn gave everything between the sticks and kept us in the game right until the final whistle.

🔴⚪ || U12s MATCH REPORT || 🔴⚪

⚽ Football is a game of moments — and unfortunately today, the small moments just didn’t go Cefn’s way.

The scoreline may say 7-1 to Broughton, but anyone who watched the game will know that the performance from our girls was far better than the result suggests.

The effort from every single player couldn’t be faulted. Each and every one of them listened to what we asked, worked incredibly hard and gave everything they had from the first whistle to the last. 💪

We created opportunities and got ourselves into some really good positions, but unfortunately that final bit of luck just wasn’t with us today. At the other end, small mistakes were punished, and ultimately that’s the difference the scoreline reflects.

But there were plenty of positives to take. The girls showed determination, courage and a willingness to keep playing football despite the result going against them. That attitude is something we can all be incredibly proud of. ❤️

👏 Well done to Broughton — a strong start to the season and a well-deserved result.

🏆 MANAGERS & COACHES’ PLAYER – TILLY

Tilly is a perfect example of what hard work and dedication can achieve.

She listens in training, takes everything on board and then works hard to put it into practice on matchday. That commitment has been rewarded with some excellent performances lately, and today was another display of just how much she is developing.

⭐ OPPOSITION PLAYER – EMILY

A tireless performance that was more than matched by ability.

Emily was a constant threat throughout the game, repeatedly beating her marker and getting in behind the Broughton defence. She created numerous opportunities and was unlucky not to find the net herself.

On another day, she could easily have walked away with a hat-trick and several assists. One of those performances where the scoreline certainly doesn’t tell the whole story.

👏 A huge well done to all the girls today. You gave everything, and that’s all we can ever ask.

🔴⚪ U12s | CAPTAIN & VICE CAPTAIN ANNOUNCEMENT ⚪🔴

As our U12 girls enter the competitive season, we gave the team the opportunity to vote for their captain for the season ahead. ⚽️

We are delighted to introduce our 2026/27 U12 Captain — Ella-Rae! 👏🏆

Ella-Rae has shown throughout our games that she has the quality, confidence and ambition to lead the team. She is constantly encouraging her teammates, communicating on the pitch and setting a fantastic example for the girls around her.

We’re sure she will make a brilliant captain. Keep up the great work, Ella-Rae! 👏⚽️

The coaches then had the difficult task of choosing our Vice Captain. It was a tough decision, as we have several girls who could have taken on the role, but after careful consideration, we made our choice.

We are delighted to introduce our 2026/27 U12 Vice Captain — Nancy! 👏🏆

Nancy has consistently shown us coaches the qualities needed to step up and lead the team when called upon. She encourages her teammates, communicates well on the pitch and always gives her best for the team.

🔴⚪️ U12 GIRLS | PRE-SEASON COMPLETE ⚪️🔴

Last night our U12 girls played their final pre-season game before the league gets underway this Saturday, welcoming Penycae U13s to Ty Mawr. ⚽️

This was a game that really put our girls to the test and challenged their strength, determination and resilience — and WOW, did they step up! 👏

From the very first whistle, the girls battled for every ball. Penycae took an early lead, but our girls never let their heads drop. We went into half-time 1-0 down, and the message from the coaches was simple: keep doing what you're doing and the goals will come.

And come they did! 🙌

The girls found their equaliser and then pushed hard for a winner. Penycae had the same idea, though, and managed to regain the lead before eventually taking the game 3-1.

But the scoreline really doesn't reflect the game. It was a fantastic battle between two teams, and our girls gave absolutely everything from start to finish. ❤️

They should hold their heads high going into the new season. The progress these girls have made has been fantastic, and we genuinely believe a few teams are going to be shocked by just how much they've come on! 💪⚽️

🏆 OPPOSITION PLAYER OF THE GAME – ALEEYAH 🏆

A solid performance in defence from Aleeyah. She read the game really well, attacked every ball and not much got past her! Some fantastic defensive headers to get the ball clear too.

Aleeyah's first thought was always to clear her lines and keep the team safe at the back.

Well done Aleeyah — keep it up! 👏❤️

🏆 COACHES' PLAYER OF THE GAME – OLIVIA 🏆

Our little quiet mouse on the pitch… but by God does she let her feet do the talking! 😂⚽️

Olivia put in a fantastic performance last night, showing some brilliant footwork and making some excellent runs. She was a real menace in the middle of the park, creating opportunities with some great through runs and passing.

Keep it up Olivia — fantastic performance! 👏❤️
