On a trip down to Cornwall, and when in Rome, you've got to go for the Wrasse. After walking down a pier having an ice cream, the decision for a quick 30 minutes of casting around was an easy one. Clearly seeing a bit of a drop off into deeper water surrounded by rock and kelp, my main aim was to not lose any tackle, but to hopefully get a chance at a wrasse around there. I have most faith in stick baits for Wrasse so was using a stick, only the 5.5cm size as I was just hoping for bites. One solid thump resulting in the crosstage travel 3-15g bent fully over and me holding on for deer life! How can you not love Wrasse?!? Managed to steer him away from the rocks and kelp to safety. And was chuffed when I saw his colouration, I've wanted a wrasse this colour for a long time! Absolutely chuffed! Hopefully there may be a few more for me to catch when I'm down here!

Something less fishing, but I tell you what, it does affect my fishing. Getting this Van has been a fantastic journey! Being able to travel around and fish other places has been great fun. I'm certainly looking forward to more trips this year! Where should I go though?!? Any ideas?
There will be a Dorset/Devon/Cornwall trip for Wrasse.
Is there anyone I should meet up with?
I do plan on recording some of these trips as well! So what do you want to see?

Braved the freezing cold today. Several times having to de-ice my rod tip which is always a fun one. But I did get rewarded with a few chunky Perch! Which was one way to warm up! Was hard to find them, but they were all grouped up in one spot so worked hard fishing slow to pick some off, they weren't fully committing which made it a bit hard!

I was using my trusty Lati Go BFS Rod paired with a Alphas Air.

On the business end I fished Texas with a 3g weight and a Micro FFS in Green pumpkin doing all of the bites after trying a few different options, it's just such a solid stick bait. Hard to beat!

Me and had a weekend trip out for Birthday. Hoping to get a few chunky Perch. A night in the campervans, and sessions on the boat.
Well, it was a tough one for sure, fishing on day 1 was tough, with my just scrapping a few tiny perch on ultra tiny lures.

Started day 2 by getting my Van stuck in the mud, thank you for saving me Steve! When we eventually got down to the river on a new spot, we felt the struggles from the day before. And then suddenly one spot we had a few chunkier Perch to at least make it feel worth it!

Still, a great trip, with a good friend, catching a few fish. Can't really complain! We do have some adventures and seem to always find a few fish! Although the cold wind got to us both a bit haha!

Rod wise the Aji Do and Dolche BFS were my two choices. Great for making the smaller fish fun!

This weekend I had about 3hrs on the bank with , we stayed local and mostly fish small sticks. I started on the micro finesse TRD managed a few bites and small Perch to start. As we moved on to the next spot, I couldn't buy a bite, whereas Geoff was getting a few. But he was on the 5.5cm sticks, unlike the TRDs they have a bit of extra movement on the tail section, stole one of Geoff's and then managed to find a few more bites and fish.

In reality, we should've stayed in that area. However we continued from the more park section right into the town to try and find more fish ..and well, we didn't!

I was using the Aji Do 5G paired with the 1000 size reel, for £50 not a bad reel at all!

Since I've used the last of my Micro FFS from FFS Lures, I'm struggling to find the replacement I really like..doesn't help how no one does Junebug! 😅

Met up with this weekend up on some canals. I think we both wish we went to a river and it fished hard haha 😅 however, I did at least manager one chunky little Zander. Great fight on the Aji Do 1-5g and caught on the small Easy Shiner in Bubblegum.

Definitely will be staying on Rivers over Canals haha....

Had a little afternoon/evening session with yesterday, and managed to get a lovely 39cm (1lb15 - so painfully close to a 2!) Stripey. These are hard to come by on my local so chuffed to get one! On the 1-5g Aji Do (Love how this rod handles Perch of any size, makes small fish fun, and has the backbone for bigger fish!) and it hit a Micro TRD in Green Pumpkin.

As you know I've been taking a break from making videos, I've also genuinely not fished a lot in that time too. I've started to venture out again, it's been incredibly refreshing just fishing. On the weekend I had a lovely walk down the river resulting in 12 quite chunky Perch, nothing massive, but a lovely few hours spent along a river on a lovely day. As I run out of my beloved FFS Micro Sticks, I've come to find a suitable replacement and was experimenting with a few. So far the 5.5cm sticks have impressed, they proved the best stick for me over the weekend...the big question I have for Westin...where's the Junebug stick?!?!?

YouTube has been a massive part of my life for so long now. And there has been so many highs with it, I've loved sharing my journey with you all. Recently, I've found social media around it that much more difficult. What happened to if you have nothing positive to say, just don't say it at all? I need to spend some time fishing for me again, and getting my love back for it. There may be the odd travel type video. But I will be taking a break from YouTube for now. Tight lines to everyone. And I'll catch you guys...in the next installment.

What an AWESOME weekend that was! Me and have been discussing for ages a trip to go on a proper Wrasse Fishing trip. We decided to go to Dorset for a weekend after work on a Friday and throw around some of my heavier Perch stuff in hopes for a few. Wrasse fishing is stealing my heart a little bit! The bites are insane, really hard fishing fish, and they are stunning! We done a lot better than we thought catching 15 wrasse each other the weekend, a mix of Corkwings and Ballans, and a few chunky ones! (For us!) We did each lose something bigger, definitely need a heavier rod and some proper Wrasse stuff to make it work, but what a fantastic weekend! The new Van definitely made it all possible too!
All fish caught on Crosstage Travel 3-15g, maybe need the slightly heavier one for next time! Fished mostly Texas style, with small stick baits being the best lure of the weekend for both of us!
Working on the video for this one, showing some of the van life too! Definitely want to do this more!!
