🐴 Busy Monday at the centre!

A typical Monday at the centre looks like this....

Adult group session, British Horse Society - PDQ & CLTH 1-1, private SEN lessons, stable management and two SEN school groups for riding therapy, all keeping the centre buzzing.

The horses are fantastic throughout a full on day of learning and variety, supporting every rider and session with patience and care.

By 4pm, lessons wrapped up and the yard returned to calm , giving the horses a well earned quiet evening after a busy start to the week πŸŽπŸ’š

Summer Routine β˜€οΈπŸ΄

Recently, we've switched to our summer routine at the centre. But what does that mean for the horses?
🐎 More time together as a herd in the field, being out overnight.
🐎 More opportunities to socialise, forage, roam, and form bonds and friendships with other horses.
🐎 Less time spent in stables each day.
🐎 Daytime stable rest during the hottest part of the day, giving them a chance to relax, stay out of the sun, and enjoy some quiet time.

For the staff, summer brings warmer weather and less time spent each morning mucking out and organising daily turnout rotas. While it does mean a lot more πŸ’© picking in the fields, it's a small price to pay for what is, overall, the best season of the year.

The longer days, greener fields, and happier horses make summer a favourite time for both our equine residents and the team. πŸ’š

Corporate volunteering πŸ’š

Today, Auriane, Team Leader and Senior Software Engineer from Sage, and her amazing team visited the centre to take a break from their desk-based duties and lend a hand with some much-needed maintenance work. πŸ’ͺ 🎨 πŸƒ

Corporate volunteering provides a valuable opportunity to connect with the community, strengthen team relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of what we do and the impact of our work.

We are incredibly grateful for their support, enthusiasm, and hard work throughout the day.

If your business / company would like to participate in a Corporate volunteer day, please email : [email protected]

Volunteer Pony Spa Day 🐴

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who took part in today’s Pony Spa Day. Our horses were thoroughly pampered, and the standard of turnout was amazing, especially the plaiting!

Well done to Foxy with Louise and Ruth, who were our winners today, but a massive thank you goes to everyone who came along and took part.
A special thank you also to Elaine for keeping everyone fed with pizza and chips, very much appreciated.

It was a lovely day and a great team effort all round. πŸ’š

If you are interested in volunteering, we are recruiting for week day participants to lead in our SEN school sessions , full training provided .

🐴 Where Your Riding Lesson Money Goes 🐴

You may wonder where riding lesson fees go, so we wanted to share a little more about how your support helps our centre.

Every lesson helps us provide care for our horses, maintain facilities, cover staffing and running costs, and continue offering meaningful experiences to those who ride with us. Your lesson money does not generate profit, it helps keep our centre running and our horses happy, healthy, and cared for . πŸ’š

As a centre, we are always looking at ways to improve accessibility, wellbeing, and care for both our riders and horses, and we would love your support with some important projects:

⭐ A new concrete base to a stable block to make it more wheelchair accessible.
🌿 Help developing our sensory garden to create a calm and engaging space.
✨ Support with sensory equipment for our riders and activities.
🐎 New horse rugs to help keep our wonderful horses comfortable and protected.

If you, your business, or someone you know may be able to help through sponsorship, donations, materials, fundraising, or practical support, we would love to hear from you.

Every bit of support , big or small, makes a real difference to our horses, riders, and centre. If you know of any companies or businesses that may be able to help, please get in touch.

Half term is a wrap! 🐴

We’ve had a wonderful week of extra events and activities, meaning we’ve been able to brighten even more children’s lives through horses.

From Pony Care Days, Hobby Horse League, and children’s charity groups, to private and group lessons, it’s been a busy and rewarding week!

We pride ourselves on carefully managing our horses’ workload alongside plenty of free time in the field. Tomorrow, they’ll all be enjoying their well earned weekly day off. πŸ’š

A huge thank you to Emma and Ashlyn for delivering the sessions, and to our wonderful volunteers for all of their support.

Here are some pictures of The SEN Support Space who visited us today, we loved having you! 🐎

The children from The Sensory Place OPEN PAGE enjoyed their riding session today at the centre. 🐎

The children who visit us have a range of additional needs, and it is a privilege to see them thrive through their time with the horses. For many, horse riding is far more than a sport, it is a powerful form of therapy.

Physically, it supports balance, coordination, strength, and posture. Emotionally and mentally, it builds confidence, reduces anxiety, encourages communication, and provides a calming, sensory environment where children can truly flourish.

With continued support, we can help more children access these life-enhancing experiences and continue making meaningful progress both in and out of the saddle.

A thank you to our RDA coach today, Chloe, and to the volunteers who assisted in leading the horses. Without your time, care, and dedication, we simply would not be able to offer these sessions πŸ’š
