Cleveland Hall 0-0 Washington Lions....

Probably the best 0-0 game I've seen , end to end and both sets of lads scrapping for every ball with chances for both teams to win it . I'm really proud of the graft and effort all the lads put in today and I think a lot of teams will struggle to get a result against Cleaveland but today was a good game to get the cobwebs out and start the year with a really hard game to play in but very enjoyable to watch 👏💪⚽🦁

Opposition Man of the match went to Dylan for another very soild display in defence winning 95% of his tackles and headers 👏

Coaches Man of the match went to Fin Mansueto who was excellent going both ways today , A great defender who has a some quality through balls from distance and ball into the box from wide 👏

I thought I'd just share a few memories of our Lion's Team from 2025 ....

What a cracking year it was ...After winning div 8 undefeated in the 23/24 Season , we jumped 2 divisions and went and won Div 6 in the 24/25 season losing only 1 game in the process . Again we have jumped 2 divisions and our squad is looking very strong to again challenge for another League Title , We also have a great opportunity in the Cup playing Hebburn from Div 3 in the semi final at the end of February.....

Last year's performance was an amazing achievement and here are the numbers ...

Man of the match this week went to Cayden Brown, who was a joy to watch on the ball in centre midfield and worked tirelessly off it . Then goes and scores an absolutely worldy to put us ahead in the tie 👏💪⚽🦁❤️

Coaches player went to Alfie Tyrie , who gave the opposition full backs lots of problems and was a constant danger every time he got on the ball , his quality shone through in a tight game and I have no doubt his first goal is not to far away 👏💪🦁⚽❤️

What a performance from our Lions yesterday morning 👏

Everyone of them fought like Lion's to secure a 2-0 Cup quater final win over Wfc Panthers 👏

Our Gk , defence and midfield were solid as a rock today and our forwards were a constant menace and looked dangerous in every attack 💪💪💪

All in all a great all round team performance and a deserved place in the semi finals of the Cup v Hubburn in Div 3 😊💪⚽🦁❤️

Man of the Match was split this week ....

Opposition Man of the match goes to Tom Greenfield, our Gk was excellent today and has went from strength to strength since signing at the start of the season . He did everything he needed to and more today and I'm looking forward to seeing his continued development with our Lion's Team 🦁💪⚽️

Coaches Man of the match goes to Chase Etherington with a powerful display up fron and he was just a constant menace to their defence . He creates chances he doesn't deserve through just wanting the ball more then the defender and scoring both goals today capped off a brilliant performance from the lad 🦁💪⚽️

What a cracking display from our Lions today and back to our old ways of working hard for each other as a team 👏

Gretham were undefeated until today and our boys showed so much heart , graft and energy to battle for every ball and opportunity , that they deserved the 3 points against quality opposition 💪

After losing 4 players over the last week and bringing new lads in, I thought all 3 debutants did excellent and fitted in very well with our Lion's mentality 👏

So it's a big well done to everyone and that puts us joint top of the table , as well as setting us up very nicely for our Quater Final Cup game next week 💪💪💪⚽⚽⚽🦁🦁🦁
