Well last night did not go as planned as the Tuns visited and turned us over in what can only be described from our point of view as a big bag of w**k

We took the lead twice but in the end we were well beaten and credit to Tuns for their deserved victory, I’m sure that it was just a coincidence that you went on to win after you subbed Brad Cope off 👀

We shall speak no more about it as we go again on Sunday in our Ken Green semi final at home to Marchington 🏆

The business end of 2025/26 begins on Thursday with the first of our eight remaining league games, and with our three semi finals also locked in it promises to be another big end to a season with all to play for 👊🏻

Two games to cover ⚽️⚽️

Last week we made the trip to the five a side pitch to take on Alton in the Charity Trophy. We started like a bag of s**t and conceded a questionable goal to go in 1-0 down at half time. Second half we were miles better and an excellent quickfire brace from debutant Greg Large had us in the lead but we conceded another poor goal and crashed out on penalties 🤦

This mornings trip to HMP Sudbury was however more fruitful as the lads returned to winning ways with a comfortable win. The prison recently forfeited a game due to not having a keeper available and I think they must still not have had one because Mitch Lacey scored

We are at home next week in the Sentinel Cup against Blurton Wanderers 🏆

For the second season in a row we fell at the first hurdle on the national stage, this time going down 1-0 at home to Men Unite. It was a tight game, the likes of which are often decided by one goal and while we can’t fault the effort shown by the lads we unfortunately just fell short against a very good and very well organised side

Men Unite merged with Barber Life over the summer who we knew from last seasons Sentinel Cup semi final so we knew we’d be in for a good battle and they began the game strong, hitting the post and seeing other decent chances go begging for them but we weathered the storm and grew into the game, Baxter had a decent chance from set pieces and Charlie Rat saw an effort deflected just wide as the first half ended goalless

As the game was swinging from end to end in the second half the visitors came up with what proved to be the winner with around 20 to go, as the lad made space in the penalty area and found the net with his low effort that Scabby should have done better with as it rolled under his foot. Our best chance for an equaliser fell to Redshaw as he met a Charlie Rat cross but headed wide with the goal gaping and we perhaps knew then that it wasn’t our day

Men Unite could have added a second but were somehow denied by Scabby making amends for the goal with a point blank block, but at the other end they repelled everything we threw at them as they made sure they got the win. Credit to them, good side and a good bunch of lads and we wish them well, we may even see them again with both of us still competing in the Staffs and Sentinel Cups

Some thank yous to dish out - to Mark, Chris and Bob for working the gate and stewarding, to Wiggy for his sponsorship, to Ginge and the OSSC team for helping us during the build up to the game, and to everyone who paid their money to come and watch, apologies we couldn’t get the win for you but we appreciate everything 🙌🏻 now it’s back to domestic action as Sunday sees us travel to Alton as we begin our bid to reclaim the Charity Trophy

This Sunday we begin our second crack at the FA Sunday Cup in a row 🏆 like last year we are at home in the first round and face a tough test in the form of Men Unite

Last season we were unlucky to fall at the first hurdle in a penalty shootout so we are determined to make amends this year, even more so considering North Solihull Athletic who overcame us went on to reach the final

Kick off is at 2pm, entry is priced at £3 and a matchday programme will be available

We hope to see as many supporters as possible down at Oldfields for what promises to be a good competitive game 👊🏻

It was County Cup action for the ‘Fields this morning as we were handed a trip to that famous Staffordshire city called Birmingham 🤔 to take on Queens FC. In surroundings that made Wentlows look like the Maldives, we went 3-0 up, let the opposition get back in the game, then went up the other end and grabbed a dramatic late winner to send us into the last eight

We travelled with a depleted squad of thirteen which included Kee Bullock in goal after Scabby dropped out, and with Wiggy in Benidorm we were wondering where the goals were coming from until we realised we still had Adam Harper, who had changed out of his sisters dress and bullet headered us 1-0 up in the early stages, hurting his shoulder in the process but Madri’s best customer will do anything for goals

We dominated the first half and a brace from JJ saw us 3-0 up at the break. His first goal was a lovely finesse finish into the corner after finding a gap between two defenders, his second was a more simple one as he just strolled clean through like he was doing his shopping at Sainsbury’s and picked his spot in the bottom corner, and that should have been game over. I say Scabby dropped out but I think he was in goal for them before they switched things up at the break

Defending downhill the second half, and stretching ourselves even more by losing the other cross dressers Thorley and Roons to injury, we had to withstand more and more pressure from the hosts, which eventually told as with five to go it was 3-3 and we looked shot and penalties were creeping up on us, however within minutes we grabbed the last word through an unlikely source

A free kick was recycled by Tom Lowe who chopped his way past a couple of defenders and hung a sumptuous ball to the wing where Caza brought it down, ignored the whole team queueing up for a tap in, rifled an effort into the top bins and just stood there like Eric Cantona as he was mobbed by the lads. Great finish and also we mustn’t forget a great assist by Lowey (cc Dan Hammond)

B***y rightly gave the lads a telling off at the end for nearly throwing the game away but cups are about finding a way to win however you do it, and the lads were rewarded with Hole’s rendition of Atomic Kitten in the changing rooms/prison cells after the game 🎤

Next week sees us take our second crack at the FA Sunday Cup as we host Men Unite, 2pm kick off and stay tuned for all the details which will be posted this week - if anyone wants to sponsor or help out get in touch as well 👍🏻

Not much to say about the game this morning, we came up against a very youthful side who credit to them kept going and didn’t let their heads drop but we simply showed our experience and quality 👊🏻

Highlights being Lace missing a second half penalty (video in comments 👀), Wiggy morphing into prime Miroslav Klose, JJ being a selfish prick and trying to take a goal off Adam Harper and all the fun we had spinning Caza’s new wheel after the game. Could be some sexy bastards in dresses rocking up in Walsall next week

We are on the road next Sunday to take on The Queens FC from the Lichfield & Walsall league in the Sunday Premier Cup

This morning ‘Fields hosted new team Marchington FC and saw them off with a comprehensive 3-0 win. It was billed as our biggest test of the season so far but the lads passed it with flying colours to maintain our unbeaten start to the season 👊🏻 apologies for no report due to me working but I’m sure the opposition will provide one 👍🏻

Goalscorers were Charles Ratcliffe, Jackarius Jeffery and Joseph Baxter - oh and Randy turned up in a dress, not a forfeit or anything, it’s just his new weekend hobby

This was our last league game for a while as the next four weeks in the schedule are taken up by cup action - on that note we are back for another crack at the FA Sunday Cup this season, we have been drawn at home to Men Unite in round one, details to follow during the week of the game but it will be played on 5th October 🏆

Next week we begin our defence of the Sentinel Cup at home to AFC Stoke, who are from Stoke funnily enough

Our place in the Ken Green Memorial semi final was rubber stamped this morning as we ended the group phase by beating Tean Rangers 3-1, confirming top spot with a 100% record. We won’t know our opponents or date for a good while yet but fair play to the league for getting this part done and out of the way early.

Late changes to the team sheet meant starts for Wiggy at the back and Moose in goal with captain Evan sporting a mullet returning after his bumhole operation in midweek (don’t ask) but by and large B***y kept faith with the lads who played on Thursday.

We began on the front foot but like Thursday it took a while for us to make the pressure tell. Indeed Rangers had their own spells of dominance and could have taken the lead during a flurry of corners in which they hit the bar and saw Caza clear an effort off the line but we managed to get our noses in front when Joe Lobosco recreated Ryan Giggs in the ‘99 FA Cup semi final. We went into half time two up through another first goal for the club, Tom Lowe recreating Thierry Henry’s backheel that he did against Charlton one time.

Rangers halved the deficit in the first minute of the second half when Ed, in his own words, saw the ball bounce higher than he expected and s**t his pants allowing the lad to take possession and let fly but his effort should still have been kept out by poppadom wrists Mossy. However at this point the chances of events conspiring to knock us off top spot were as microscopic as Lace successfully completing a five yard pass so alarm bells didn’t start ringing. We dominated the rest of the game despite Wiggy getting himself sin binned, much to the delight of the opposition bench. We eventually sealed the win when JJ raced clear and was denied his 63rd goal of the season by a diving save but young William Mottram followed in to dispatch his first goal, in a proud moment for the Oldfields conveyor belt.

Scabby Dogg had come on up front and nearly grabbed a goal when he saw a volley tipped away by the keeper who we all owe a pint because we’d have never heard the end of it had he scored. Lace aka David Speckham caused havoc from a couple of corners but we couldn’t add to the score and the game ended with Magic breaking the record for least amount of seconds played in a game in the UDSL.

Now the Ken Green has been parked for a while we can focus on other endeavours, the league returns next week as the lads have a trip to Meir to face new side Charlie Bassetts, I shan’t be there unfortunately as I will be in the Netherlands window shopping. If we win though I promise I won’t call the opposition Sam Bassetts, really genuinely honestly 🤥

The kids may now have gone back to school yet but already we have booked our place in our first semi final of the season, after last nights 3-0 win over Leigh in the Ken Green group stage. If the lads had taken all their chances then the score could have been the same as the rugby game happening at the same time but a wins a win and top spot is ours barring the biggest f**k up in human history.

Credit to Leigh who at times made it difficult for us and are in pole position for the second semi final spot, and our former striker Will Whitehurst received a good reception from the home fans. Despite our dominance we had to wait for the breakthrough as chances came and went. Eventually we went ahead when Jase Beardsley’s speculative long range effort found its way in off a United head, after he had had an early strike ruled out for offside.

We then killed the game straight away as Reuben Kenny received possession and left fly with a piledriver from range than found the bottom corner off the post. The third goal wasn’t far behind as JJ brought a lofted pass down in the area, did about 100 stepovers, 50 kick ups, 10 around the worlds and stood on his head for five seconds before he eventually kicked the ball into the net. Nice of him to eventually turn up after thinking the game was away and going to Leigh at first.

No more goals followed in the second half but it wasn’t for the want of trying as nearly everyone on the pitch had an effort but nobody could finish their dinner. B***y rang the changes as the game wore down and we ended with a random strike partnership of the final Ibiza boss and someone’s dad. Job done though and a good evenings work.

So we are guaranteed a semi final and win or a draw against already eliminated Tean Rangers on Sunday will secure us top spot and a place in the Ken Green semis, however a defeat coupled with one of Leigh or Stone winning their game and achieving the goal difference swing would consign us to second place and the Alan Featherstone semis so still all to play for in that respect.

Managers comments - “We got the job done which is the main thing. With all those chances though it was a game made for Mitch Lacey but he chose to chase eggs instead. No wonder he didn’t play in any finals last season.”
