Last night Tinhay Tornadoes took to court for their last game of the season; a game in which the winner took promotion to Div 5.
Due to injury, illness and unavailability Tinhay were thin on the ground with two borrowed players and no substitutions.

First quarter was reasonably equal, but the girls were lagging behind by three going into halftime. After a quick pep talk and a shift in positions, the team was reinvigorated and after a blinding third quarter the girls got back in front coming away with a 25-21 win and securing promotion into Div 5! 🙌🏼

Westcountry took to the court tonight a hard-fought 25-20 victory over UTN Toms in a tense and competitive match 🔥

After falling behind in the first two quarters, Westcountry knew they needed to make changes to swing the momentum. The return of our Kez to her favourite position at WA 😉 proved to be a turning point, bringing renewed energy and intensity through the centre court as the team turned up the heat.

Heading into the final quarter, another positional switch and some incredibly smart, composed play allowed Westcountry to take control of the game. Strong defensive pressure and clinical attacking passages helped the team pull away and secure an important five-goal win when it mattered most.

A huge team effort from start to finish in a match that had everything on the line 💙

✨Opposition Player of the Match went to Jess at GD for a standout defensive performance. ✨

✨Captain’s Player was awarded to Poppy at C for her relentless work rate and energy across the court.✨

We have our last game of the season Thursday and looking forward to ending the season on a high 🏐💪

🏆WHAT A MATCH!🏆

Ravens had our final match of the season and it has crowned us CHAMPIONS of Div 3!🥇

We went into this game knowing it was to be a tough match, having lost to this team earlier in the season, but we weren’t going to let that dampen our spirit and went in DETERMINED! The 1st quarter both ravens and mavericks came out hard and a couple of silly balls from us and panicked play meant mavericks took the lead. The 1st quarter ended 7-4 to mavericks.

We came into the 2nd quarter lacking momentum due to the initial set back, but having reflected and recuperated, the girls elevated play. Attack worked tactically and defence aggressively to win that quarter. Due to mavericks initial lead, we were still behind by 1.

During half time, we discussed how we were going to approach the second half of the game and were now adamant to dominate the match. We pulled together our skills and came into the second half firey. Some slight position changes and tactical play meant we started to pull away. We had to play slow and steady so as not to throw away the ball as any mistake would be capitalised on by the opposition. When balls were turned over, we were hot on getting straight back into defence to apply pressure to the opposition and made sure to look after our centre passes, ensuring they got to goal. 3rd quarter ended 29-22, a serious change of pace.

The last quarter, ravens were careful and tactical with the ball, ensuring to keep possession and ensure the goal difference was maintained. And we did, keeping our 7 goal difference for a 37-30 win.

Every player put blood, sweat and tears in and the whole team pulled together to take the well deserved win. We all worked relentlessly, putting our all into it. This has been an incredible season for ravens, the team have really grown together (on the court and off, including in Benidorm 😂), each player has been committed, always showing up to training and matches with enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We always strive to be better and work together as a team to create incredible results. Ravens are looking forward to taking on Div 2 in September.

Energy is HIGH after Tuesdays match for Ravens. The girls went in knowing it wasn’t going to be an easy game and they were all going to have to bring their A-game, and so they did.

The game started off strong and the ravens played well throughout the court. The team instantly found their flow, and the ball was flying across the court, consistently getting to goal. This initial burst of energy and momentum ended the first quarter with a 16-4 lead to Ravens.

Defence was strong in every quarter, constantly disturbing the space of the opposition and disrupting play. Defenders got turnover after turnover, making sure that plenty of the oppositions centre passes were ending at our end of the court. Attackers played aggressively, but tactically, knowing when to launch the ball and when to hold that extra second for shooters to come forward into space.

Overall, our communication on the court was effective, we were quiet at times but that didn’t affect our ability to keep the ball in our possession and deliver an excellent performance. The game resulted in a great 46-24 win.

This has left ravens ready and raring to go for their LAST match of the season this upcoming Tuesday. It’s going to be a riveting match. The more supporters the merrier 😉🌟🌟

Oppositions player of the match went to Immy Kivell in GA who drove with intention and strength into the D over and over again to receive the ball and score goals. Ensuring to follow her shot so that any rebounds that may occur, were hers for the taking.

Captains player of the match went to Jodie Burke who switched between defensive positions throughout the match. Jodie was constantly on her toes and her fast feet meant that she was EVERYWHERE on court, the opposition couldn’t shake her. She was disruptive to their play and her tactical skills resulted in plenty of turnovers for the team, which she would then follow through by guiding the ball up the court to the attackers.

On Tuesday, Ravens took on Vixens. It wasn’t going to be an easy match considering vixens close proximity to us on the table. Knowing the challenge ahead, ravens came out with intensity from the start.

Ravens brought high energy and commitment to the court. The 1st quarter started goal for goal, setting up for a closely contested match. However, the Ravens quickly found rhythm, began to dominate and started to pull away.

During breaks, we analysed play, focusing on how to secure the win. Clear communication and receptiveness to feedback was evident from everyones play and we all adapted our approach as needed, bringing renewed focus and skill to the court.

It wasn’t easy, but the team constantly demonstrated resilience and adaptability, resulting in a 35-25 win. We adjusted strategies, responded dynamically to the game and were always finding the best way to maintain our lead, aware any little mistakes could allow vixens to capitalise and close the gap. Each player truly brought their A-game and energy was high on and off the court. The game was a true testament to the Ravens ability to work tactically together and leverage everyone’s skills to achieve our teams peak performance.

This result has guaranteed Ravens PROMOTION ⭐️⭐️ the next 2 games will determine wether they go up in 1st or 2nd 😏

Opppositons player of the match went to Jas Ewings in WA/C who as always brought power to the match. Jas really directed the game with clear communication and excellent vision and precision with her ICONIC jazzy longbombs. Jas’s relentless drive and exceptional skill allowed her to be agile across the court.

Captains player of the match went to Charlotte Ewings in C. Charlotte dynamically played across the court, demonstrating strong skill in both the attack and defence end, consistently creating turnovers, getting tips to the ball with her incredible reach, disrupting the opposition’s flow and maintaining possession for the team. Charlotte guided the game effortlessly.
