Volunteer required -
Swindon RFC has a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of the club and build stronger links with the local community and are looking for a volunteer to help with this.

The Government has recently announced that they will be investing £20m in Walcot East and Parks under their Pride in Place programme. The key thing about Pride in Place is that decisions about how the funding is used will be made locally, with a resident-led Board deciding the priorities for the area. As Swindon RFC serves many residents from the Walcot and Park area, the club has been invited to apply to join the local Neighbourhood Board which will be making these decisions.

We are looking for a volunteer who will represent Swindon RFC on this Neighbourhood Board. A strong community means a strong club - so if you would like to make a difference to the local area, and support the development of our club, please get in touch.

The time commitment is 6-8 meetings a year and there will be opportunities to support wider community engagement. The closing date for applications is 17th June.

We are incredibly proud to see one of our own, Matthew Huggins, achieve the honour of international selection and make his debut for Trinidad & Tobago this weekend against Mexico.

Matthew's rugby journey began at Supermarine as a young player and, through years of hard work, dedication and commitment to the game, he has earned the opportunity to represent his family heritage on the international stage.

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Matthew on this fantastic achievement. Your family, teammates, coaches and the entire club community will be cheering him on.

Today two of our coaches, Rich and Paul, attended a course focused on understanding EHCPs and inclusion.

As a club, we believe it’s important to understand every individual’s needs and create an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and included.

We’re proud to continue investing in the development of our coaches, helping them build the knowledge and skills needed to support all players both on and off the pitch.

A big thank you to Rich and Paul for giving up their time to continue learning and developing for the benefit of the whole club. 🏉
