Friday 23rd October Club Run
This week's loop follows up to Shaw Ridge School, through to Cartwright Drive then right through the park following the path to West Mead Industrial estate. Follow the path back through past the skate park to the cyclepath to Barnfield. Follow it to Barnfield then down Rodbourne Road. At the Outlet village turn right along Penzance Drive. Then turn right up Paddington Drive then follow all the way back to the cyclepath to Barnfield but turn left and follow the path back to the Link. - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41160813

It is dark by the time we are running and the pavements are not even(!) so do consider lights and bright/reflective clothing

Friday 16th October Club Run
Another regular route working our way out to Blagrove and back. From the Link up to Shaw Ridge, along to just across Hay Lane towards the entrance to Lydiard Park then left and work our way down to Windmill Hill, cross through Blagrove Industrial Estate then along the Cycle Track. Cross Wootton Bassett Road at the lights then left under the underpass then immediately right and follow round to Welton Road. Up Welton Road to the cycle path to/from Barnfield. Striders Stars ✨ killing it at various races and challenges recently. We’re inspired by (and super proud of) our members’ true grit & determination. 1. Swindon Half team photo. 2. Jenny - 1st female at Cotswold Lakes 10K. 3. Yahya - scaled Mount Toubkal in Morocco. 4. Mike aced Copenhagen Half Marathon & dedicated it to Keiron. 5. Emily & Stephen completed Great North Run - Emily raised lots of money for Guide Dogs 🦮. 6. Newbury Racecourse 10K Striders braving the heatwave 🥵. 7. Chippenham Half team smashing it. 8. Chairman Mark doing us proud at Bournemouth Half. 9. Emily completed her 3rd half in 1 month at Royal Parks Half. 10. Mike - 1st 🥇 Male V50 at Cotswold Lakes 10K. 11. Andy donning a tutu (22) for Parkrun on 22nd Sept! 😍

Green and blue teams uniting….for a gorgeous trail run from Ashbury this morning. Swindon Striders high(worth)jacking Highworth Running Club’s club run. We were welcomed with open arms (thanks, Highworth 🙏🏻🙏🏻), & we made sure we didn’t come empty-handed - our cake contributions were wolfed down! 😋 🍰 🍪 Mental note: we must return the favour!

Friday 9th October Club Run
This week's run visits Peatmoor in a loop using some of the many footpaths of West Swindon. From the Link up to Shaw Ridge School. Out to Shaw Lane and Cartwright Drive. Down to the bottom of Cartwright Drive then right along Roughmoor Way. At the end make an anticlockwise loop round Peatmoor Lagoon until the path through the subway below Mead Way. Follow all the way to the end past the end of Shaw Forest and wind the way up to the bridge across Mead Way into Sound Copse, Right onto Hobbs Hill and out to the old Purton Road and along the cycle path past the edge of Ridgeway Farm. At Swinley Drive Left and follow all the way back to Peatmoor lagoon and Roughmoor Way reversing the route out although at the pelican crossing on Cartwright Drive cross over then left right on Old Shaw Lane to come back along Shaw Ridge. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38348405

Friday 2nd October Club Run
It is back to the winter routes and a perennial 'favourite'. Out round Cheney Manor. From the Link out to Bridgemead, all the way up Cheney Manor Road into Vicarage Road to Akers Way, left there then along to turn left into Cheney Manor Industrial Estate then back round to pick up the way out. - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38348298

Friday 25th September Club Run
With several planning to put all their effort into Swindon Half on Sunday, this run is a shorter run than some. From the Link through the underpass to Rowton Heath Way, follow it along across the roundabout with Gainsborough Way right along the path to pick up the cycle path back towards Lydiard and Grange Park. At the end of the path across the roundabout to continue along the cycle path to Shaw ridge. Left then left towards the entrance of Lydiard Park. Right then down the cycle path under Tewkesbury Way to go round the back of Hickory's Smokehouse (Brookhouse Farm) back to Shaw Village centre. Follow the path back from there through Middeleaze back over Shaw Ridge to the Link https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41535197

Friday 18th September Club Run
We'll have another go at this route round Wichelstowe which was done in August but with another slight variation! From the Link head down to Mannington Way, cross over at the traffic lights on Wootton Bassett Road and head round Mannington Retail Park, under the bridge then right towards Wichelstowe. Take the first left to lead you up to the traffic lights. Cross then follow the path leading to the Wichelsotwe Boardwalk. At the play area left adn wiggle past the school and out to Peglars Way. Cross the bridge beside Hall and Woodhouse, past the front of Aitrose then right up Mill Lane. At the roundabout folow the small path alongside the lake to the canal. Follow the canal along before taking the 2nd turning to cut through the lakes to the car park onto Barbrook Road and left onto East Wichel Way. At the end of the bus lane tke the path on the right down to Mill Lane. Turn left along Mill Lane, over the canal bridge then follow the path parallel with Peglars Way back to the traffic lights.
