Hosted at the scenic Broome Manor Golf Complex, Broome Manor Golf Club helps golfers gain an official handicap, enjoy competitions, and be part of a thriving community! Broome Manor Golf Club uses Broome Manor Golf Complex as it's home, which is owned by Swindon Borough Council but currently leased to Twigmarket Ltd and operated by Community Golf and Leisure Trust Ltd

The course was opened to the

public in 1976 and the Golf Club was established a year later. We are proud to say that some of the founder members are still active members of the club and that the Club Championship has been sponsored, since it began in 1978, by Deacons Jewellers of Old Town. All four sections (Men, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors) are successful and well supported, and at the start of 2009 we had over 100 single handicap players, a measure of our strength. Our men’s section has had regular success at county level and proudly won the oldest event in Wiltshire County Golf, The Team Shield, in 2006 and retained it in 2007 and 2008. The club has nurtured and supported a number of individual players who have represented Wiltshire and Great Britain. Four players have reached international level, including David Howell, a European Tour player with a number of European tour victories under his belt, who was also a member of the winning European Ryder Cup Team in 2004 and 2006. In the 2010's The club had two members of the England A squad, Miles Mackman, who has been a member of the squad for a couple of years, and more recently Sam Matton.

2019 saw a another Broome Manor international with Oliva Bannon representing Wales Girls in an international against Ireland. Unfortunately more international caps were thoughted by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

⭐Following a return to some normality Broome Manor golfers had a great 2021-2022 Season. Tom Law finished a Creditable 3rd in the Men’s County and South West Championships. Michael Cox and Tom Law won the 2021 Wiltshire County Foursomes Championships and Cillian Roberts and Ethan Batstone won the 2021 Wiltshire Foursomes Net Trophy.

⭐Broome Manor also provided 3 of the Wiltshire Men’s Team Matt Hibbs, Tom Law and Max Drayton. Congratulations to Matt Hibbs who has now turned professional and has already qualified for the European Pro Tour 2022.

⭐Broome Manor Men’s Team won the 2021 1st Division Wiltshire League; they also won Wiltshire Men’s Finals Day. Michael Cox and Tom Law won the Pairs Competition on Wiltshire Finals Day.

⭐David Coles won the Broome Manor Senior Open a major feat for David who lost a leg in an accident at work.

⭐Broome Manor’s Olivia Bannon and Niamh Cripps were selected for the Wiltshire Ladies Golf Team for South West week and although the team were not victorious Olivia and Niamh should be proud of their selection at such a young age. Niamh Cripps was also nominated for two 2021 England Golf awards. England Golf Young Ambassador of the Year and England Golf Volunteer of the year. Although she did not win any award she should be pleased to have made the Final 6 in each category, Broome Manor are so proud of her.

⭐The Broome Manor Juniors won their group in the Junior Wiltshire League and finished runners up in the final. Lewy Hayward won the Deacons Junior Open and also 2 other opens, one in North Devon and the other at Walton Heath.

⭐At a British Junior Golf Tournament 6 year old Harjira Marfleet won the 7/8 year old girls division with 38 on a 9 hole course which included 2 birdies. This secures her place in the 2022 British Junior Golf Tour Championship Team.

⭐Last but not least Broome Manor Junior Team were one of around 900 clubs who entered the 2021 Junior Team Golf Home Nations Inter-Club Championships. One of, if not the youngest team came through a series of qualifiers as follows:-
Regional Qualifier @ Mendip Springs - Winners Broome Manor
South-West Qualifier @ Bowood Park Cornwall – Winners Broome Manor
National Qualifier @ Ramside Hall County Durham – Runners up Broome Manor

⭐Broome Manor Golf Club Junior Team are now one of two teams who represent England in the Junior Team Golf Home Nations Final in April 2022. Many thanks to Andrew Emanuel, Lee Hayward and other members of the Junior Group who put a lot of work and time to get the Junior in the right place at the right time to enable them to perform so well. Helped in no small part by parents, friends and relatives.

⭐The Junior journey is expensive and sponsorship from many sources including The Toby Drayton Golf Foundation is much appreciated, further funding for the final will be required.

**Senior Captain’s Day has arrived! ⛳️**

The big day is finally here — and we couldn’t have asked for better conditions. The weather is on our side 🌤️, the course is looking superb, and a huge thank you goes to Simon Sperring and his team for their fantastic work preparing everything 👏.

A special word of thanks also goes to our Senior Captain, Ian Burgess, for all his hard work, planning, and dedication in bringing today together 🙌. His efforts behind the scenes have helped shape what promises to be a brilliant day.

We have 76 players heading out from 9:30am, hopefully well fuelled after this morning’s breakfast. Wishing everyone an enjoyable day and a great round of golf 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of all our sponsors, we’ve already raised over £2,000 for Wiltshire Treehouse 🌳. Your support is making a real difference — thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

⛳ Broome Manor Seniors – Match Updates ⛳

The Senior Men have enjoyed a busy and competitive couple of weeks, with four friendly matches played recently.

We kicked things off with a home fixture against Ogbourne Downs, looking to avenge an earlier away defeat. Home advantage proved decisive, and we secured a strong 4–2 victory.

Next up was a visit to Brickhampton Golf Club – always a tough test. It was a closely fought contest, but we narrowly lost out 3.5–2.5.

Just two days later, we were back on the road at The Players Club. Challenging course conditions, combined with heavy rain and storms, made for a difficult day. Despite this, the team battled hard to earn an excellent 3–3 draw.

The final match in this run saw us host local rivals The Wiltshire. In much improved weather, another tight encounter took place, with Broome Manor coming out on top with a convincing 4–1 win.
Overall, a solid return from a busy spell, with plenty more fixtures still to come!

⛳ Seniors Championship – Thursday 3rd June

Last week the Seniors returned for their annual Championship, and the weather delivered a bit of everything. The early groups battled heavy showers and a chilly breeze, while the afternoon brought some sunshine — but also a stiff wind that kept scoring tough right to the finish.

Even so, the standard of golf was impressive. The leading gross scores were:

🏆 1st – Colin Harrison (76)
🥈 2nd – Andrew Buck (81)
🥉 3rd – Steve Ballard (82)
🎖 4th – Carl Edwards (84)

A special mention to Glyn Williams, who produced the best net score of the day with a net 71 — an excellent round in demanding conditions.

At the end of play, the Senior Captain made an informal presentation of the trophy to Colin to mark a well‑deserved win.

✨✨ BMGC JUNIORS ✨✨

The weekend was a busy one for the Broome Manor Junior squad. On Saturday a 3 player team travelled to Camberwell to begin our defence of the Wiltshire Junior Knockout Cup we won last year. The team of Louis Smith (Captain), Jack Tinson and Billy McKinlay battered hard against a good Cumberwell team over the tough Blue and Yellow course. Unfortunately we lost the match 2.5 - 0.5 with Louis Smith delivering the half point.

On Sunday a 6 player team travelled the short distance to Wrag Barn to play our Wiltshire Junior League fixture, in a very hard-fought contest with 3 matches going all the way down the 18th Broome succumbed to 3.5 - 2.5 loss. The team led by former junior captain Thomas Le Leivre started well with the skipper delivering a convincing 8&6 victory against the Wrag Barn Junior Captain. Jack Tinson went down the last eventually losing 1 down. Harrison Thompson fought hard but also lost on the 18th to an amazing 12ft birdie putt when a half looked to be secured. Freddy Little battered back from being 4 down but just came up short going down 2&1. Charlie Clark battled hard all day winning his match 2&1 whilst his brother who was giving away 13 shots made a heroic comeback from 4 down to secure a half on the 18th. The team showed resilience and determination and really represented Broome Manor well on both days with plenty of compliments on behaviour and sportsmanship.
