Hosted at the scenic Broome Manor Golf Complex, Broome Manor Golf Club helps golfers gain an official handicap, enjoy competitions, and be part of a thriving community! Broome Manor Golf Club uses Broome Manor Golf Complex as it's home, which is owned by Swindon Borough Council but currently leased to Twigmarket Ltd and operated by Community Golf and Leisure Trust Ltd

The course was opened to the

public in 1976 and the Golf Club was established a year later. We are proud to say that some of the founder members are still active members of the club and that the Club Championship has been sponsored, since it began in 1978, by Deacons Jewellers of Old Town. All four sections (Men, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors) are successful and well supported, and at the start of 2009 we had over 100 single handicap players, a measure of our strength. Our men’s section has had regular success at county level and proudly won the oldest event in Wiltshire County Golf, The Team Shield, in 2006 and retained it in 2007 and 2008. The club has nurtured and supported a number of individual players who have represented Wiltshire and Great Britain. Four players have reached international level, including David Howell, a European Tour player with a number of European tour victories under his belt, who was also a member of the winning European Ryder Cup Team in 2004 and 2006. In the 2010's The club had two members of the England A squad, Miles Mackman, who has been a member of the squad for a couple of years, and more recently Sam Matton.

2019 saw a another Broome Manor international with Oliva Bannon representing Wales Girls in an international against Ireland. Unfortunately more international caps were thoughted by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

⭐Following a return to some normality Broome Manor golfers had a great 2021-2022 Season. Tom Law finished a Creditable 3rd in the Men’s County and South West Championships. Michael Cox and Tom Law won the 2021 Wiltshire County Foursomes Championships and Cillian Roberts and Ethan Batstone won the 2021 Wiltshire Foursomes Net Trophy.

⭐Broome Manor also provided 3 of the Wiltshire Men’s Team Matt Hibbs, Tom Law and Max Drayton. Congratulations to Matt Hibbs who has now turned professional and has already qualified for the European Pro Tour 2022.

⭐Broome Manor Men’s Team won the 2021 1st Division Wiltshire League; they also won Wiltshire Men’s Finals Day. Michael Cox and Tom Law won the Pairs Competition on Wiltshire Finals Day.

⭐David Coles won the Broome Manor Senior Open a major feat for David who lost a leg in an accident at work.

⭐Broome Manor’s Olivia Bannon and Niamh Cripps were selected for the Wiltshire Ladies Golf Team for South West week and although the team were not victorious Olivia and Niamh should be proud of their selection at such a young age. Niamh Cripps was also nominated for two 2021 England Golf awards. England Golf Young Ambassador of the Year and England Golf Volunteer of the year. Although she did not win any award she should be pleased to have made the Final 6 in each category, Broome Manor are so proud of her.

⭐The Broome Manor Juniors won their group in the Junior Wiltshire League and finished runners up in the final. Lewy Hayward won the Deacons Junior Open and also 2 other opens, one in North Devon and the other at Walton Heath.

⭐At a British Junior Golf Tournament 6 year old Harjira Marfleet won the 7/8 year old girls division with 38 on a 9 hole course which included 2 birdies. This secures her place in the 2022 British Junior Golf Tour Championship Team.

⭐Last but not least Broome Manor Junior Team were one of around 900 clubs who entered the 2021 Junior Team Golf Home Nations Inter-Club Championships. One of, if not the youngest team came through a series of qualifiers as follows:-
Regional Qualifier @ Mendip Springs - Winners Broome Manor
South-West Qualifier @ Bowood Park Cornwall – Winners Broome Manor
National Qualifier @ Ramside Hall County Durham – Runners up Broome Manor

⭐Broome Manor Golf Club Junior Team are now one of two teams who represent England in the Junior Team Golf Home Nations Final in April 2022. Many thanks to Andrew Emanuel, Lee Hayward and other members of the Junior Group who put a lot of work and time to get the Junior in the right place at the right time to enable them to perform so well. Helped in no small part by parents, friends and relatives.

⭐The Junior journey is expensive and sponsorship from many sources including The Toby Drayton Golf Foundation is much appreciated, further funding for the final will be required.

⛳ Frank Tanner Trophy – 2026 ⛳

Today at Broome Manor Golf Club we played the Frank Tanner Trophy Mixed Texas Scramble — a competition that has been part of BMGC for many years, and one that meant a great deal to Frank himself.

This year’s event carried special significance, as it was the first time the trophy has been played without Frank with us. Frank devoted so much of his life to BMGC and was a huge part of the club’s identity. His presence, his commitment, and his love for the game shaped the experience of countless members over the decades.

Although the format and the trophy remain unchanged, today’s edition naturally became a moment to reflect, remember, and celebrate the contribution Frank made to Broome Manor.

⛳ Senior Captains Away Day 2026 ⛳

Today, 60 Senior Members of BMGC — including a very much younger Club Captain — made the trip to Kendleshire Golf Club for the annual Senior Captains Away Day.

The day started with a pre‑round bacon bap, before everyone headed out onto the Hollows and Ruffet course for an individual Stableford competition. The weather turned out far better than expected, giving us a bright and enjoyable round. ☀️

After several hours navigating Kendleshire’s bunkers, water hazards and tricky approaches, the group returned to the clubhouse for a much‑needed drink and a well‑earned BBQ. 🍔🍺

🏆 Prize Winners

• 🥇 Nigel Pullen – 40 points
• 🥈 Matty Conway
• 🥉 Brian Day

Nigel was presented with the Chic Carvell Trophy by Senior Captain Ian Burgess — a great moment to round off the day.

A huge thank you to Kendleshire Golf Club for hosting us so well. A thoroughly enjoyable day from start to finish.

🌟 Mixed Friendly vs Brickhampton Court – A Great Day of Golf 🌟

This week saw our annual mixed friendly against Brickhampton Court, with the Senior Men and Ladies joining forces for an enjoyable day of golf.

Another fine summer’s day provided the perfect backdrop for eight matches, with Brickhampton Court bringing a strong team for the occasion. It was also great to see plenty of familiar Broome faces alongside some new players experiencing the format for the first time.

Several matches went right down to the wire, making for a closely contested afternoon. Unfortunately, Broome narrowly missed out, falling to a 4½–3½ home defeat.

The return fixture in October now looks even more intriguing — and gives us all the incentive we need to bring the trophy home! 😄⛳

Pictured before the start are Sammy Walls, Lady Captain, and Ian Burgess, Senior Captain, alongside their Brickhampton Court opponents.

🌟 Wishing Lauren All the Best for the Final Round 🌟

A huge well done to Lauren Cowley, who has completed Round 2 of the English Girls’ U14 Championship at Gog Magog today.

Lauren has climbed brilliantly into 9th position, delivering two solid rounds in a very strong international field.

She now heads into tomorrow’s Final Round, and everyone at Broome Manor Golf Club is right behind her. Go out there, enjoy it, and finish strong Lauren! 💪⛳

Captain’s Day 2026 – Recapping a Busy Few Weeks at Broome Manor ⛳️

Saturday 25th July saw Broome Manor host Captain’s Day 2026, a brilliant day of golf, community spirit, and fundraising in support of the Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance — a lifesaving service supporting communities across the South West. The club is incredibly proud that this year’s event helped raise funds for such a deserving cause.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported the day, both in the build‑up and throughout the event. Special appreciation goes to Tony & Yvonne Roe, Neil & Kate Parsons, Nikki & Andy Courtney, Dave & Sue Edwards, Damien Mackman, Paul Turland, Nigel Wright, all members of the committee, Will Oglesby Photography, Ethan Edwards for running the fantastic challenge on the 6th, and Chic Carvell for organising the ever‑popular putting competition.

The club would also like to thank all sponsors and everyone who generously donated four‑ball vouchers and raffle prizes. Your support helped create a memorable day for the membership while raising an impressive amount for charity. Once everything is fully reconciled, the final fundraising total will be shared — but early indications suggest it’s something the whole club can be proud of.

⛳️ Ahead of a Big Weekend at Broome Manor… A Look Back at the Last Couple of Weeks

With Ladies Captain’s Day arriving this Saturday, it feels like the perfect moment to look back on what has been a brilliant couple of weeks at the club — full of great golf, great people, and great energy around the course.

Last weekend we hosted the American Golf Challenge, with fantastic turnout across both the Men & Ladies event and the Junior 9‑Hole Challenge. The scoring was superb, the course was in great condition, and it was brilliant to see so many players enjoying the day.

🏆 Men & Ladies – American Golf Challenge

• Lee Ellis took the overall win with an excellent 81 – 17 = 64.
• Marion James and Carol Howell followed closely, both finishing on 66 to secure runner‑up and third place.
• A special mention to Jason Beint, whose gross 70 earned him Lowest Gross Score.

🏆 Junior American Golf Challenge – 9 Hole

• Joseph Cripps claimed the win with a superb 40 – 10 = 30, also taking Lowest Gross Score.
• Buddy Garbutt followed with a strong 42 – 05 = 37, rounding off a great day for our juniors.

A huge thank you to our sponsor, all players, parents, volunteers, and our greenkeeping team for keeping the course in fantastic shape throughout a busy period.

And as we look ahead to Saturday…
We’re wishing Sammy fabulous weather, fabulous golf, and an amazing Ladies Captain’s Day — a celebration of everything that makes Broome Manor such a special club.
